If anyone still has this up on DVR, go back to the quick huddle with 1:39 left. We pulled some auburn player in and Fox drew up a play on the whiteboard with the AU kid in the huddle. I've never seen anything like it.... am I missing something here??

Great win last night, Maten and Frazier really took over the game (58 points between the two). Harris looked to have had an alright game, too. Our starters all had a pretty good game...WTF happened to our bench, though? I Crump hurt? I saw he didn't play at all while KPG booked 21 minutes. The box score for our bench looks god damned horrible. I understand that with guys like KPG and Kessler on the bench that our expectations should be limited, but our bench was 2-9 shooting with 7 points. Edwards played 16 minutes without even attempting a shot and Turtle Jackson was 0-4 in 12 minutes. I followed the game online since I was driving back to SC last night so I didn't get to witness it with my own two eyes, but it looked like our bench was absolute shite, statistically speaking.

Turtled didnt hit iron at all on three of those shots.
KPG had a decent game actually. He plays pretty good D in the zone.

KPG is a pretty good on-ball defender. Sometimes he gets way too out of position on his help D and he goes for the block way too often. He also takes some bad charge attempts when he needs to just stay upright and contest the shot. He does have the athleticism to compete on that end of the floor though.

I made it, finally! Turtle didn't shoot the ball well and Crump doesn't look to be ready to contribute yet. He looks lost on defense and like he doesn't have a clue on offense. If Tutle isn't doing much then our bench is probably going to suck. I think turtle needs to attack the basket more and get in the lane and dish from there.

I don't see practices obviously but I thought Crump was the most ready coming into the season. At least, I thought he was a sharpshooter that could shoot the lights out. I know it's tough for a freshman to get everythign but Harris looks to be improving wonderfully in part becuase he's actually getting minutes. Crump can't improve and get a feel for the speed of the game if he doesnt' even get a minute.

I am most impressed at the patience and shot selection of Harris. I am kinda disappointed that Crump isn't playing but at the same time, Fox has a culture and if he going to get better work and effort out of Crump down the road by not playing him then I'm all for him sitting.
I was at the tech game and If I didn't know any better I would think Crump did t have a clue but he is just a freshman.
On a separate note, beautiful area the techies have there. To bad they waste on a crappy team and fan base.

ESPN RPI has us 22. Someone wanna explain that to me? We played a weak schedule and lost to all the good teams

The NCAA RPI, that the committee uses has us at 36. Dont know how with a weak schedule and our best win being against #73 Auburn.
Key point is, never use ESPN for anything. They use their own formulas. Warrennolan.com is what you should use. Uses the formula the NCAA uses and has tons of other options.

My guess is that we don't necessarily have any bad losses at the moment and we at least get points for just playing good teams. Of course, it will probably level out as the season moves on. We will undoubtedly need an upset of South Carolina and Florida to even be hopeful. Probably going to need to make a threepeat to the SEC semis as well.

Beating USC 1/2 is a good possibility. I'll never say we even have a chance at beating Florida until we sweep them one year.

We need to make sure and beat Carolina and Missouri to get us to 10 wins before we get into the meat of the schedule.
