OP:

We begged for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday in Gainesville. Foley and McTeeth said no!

I swear, some of you a like liberals -- running with your own opinion without anything to back it up like it's fact.

LSU realistically can't make the game. We're not likely to run the table against Bama, Ole Miss, A&M, and Arkansas. But having to play @ UF and then @ A&M on Thursday on top of the lost home game revenue was just not good enough.

When this thing washes out Tennessee will be the one cheated and Tennessee will the be the one carrying the fight to the SEC office - to make sure the commissioner understands his responsibility to make sure games are played.

Alleva's mad because Sankey got played like a fiddle and now wants LSU to cover for his frick up. Ultimately I think Alleva loses, but I don't think it's bad that he is publicly outraged.

In his mind he offered every possible solution to the problem but was shutdown and never considered. Then everything went south. Now the SEC is pushing to give up a home game, lose revenue, lose senior night, play on the road 3 times and 12 days, local economy takes a giant hit... all while Florida literally gives up nothing. If I were in charge at any school I'd be a bit peeved.

Worse case is we win out which is doubtful, then you make the SEC looks like a bunch of idiots.

LSU DID beg to play the game. The weather was beautifull in Gainsville, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Was also beautifull in Baton Rouge those days as well, As well at any neutral sites. Florida did not want to play the game that weekend, when it was scheduled, for some reason.

Alabama must be in another universe where this didn't occur.

It seems to Alleva is saying LSU will play a home game on 11/19, either USA or UF.

a. We're not taking a $5.6-6 million hit.
b. The Baton Rouge community, still reeling from the economic impact of floods, is not taking the economic hit of losing a Tiger home game.
c. We're not depriving our seniors of their Senior Night.
d. We're not playing 4 SEC games in 19 days, possibly against 4 ranked opponents.
e. it's none of your business

From Day One, LSU offered Foley 7 different proposals to play the game, date, time and location. Foley rejected them all. J.A. even used the word "begged" to emphasize how much LSU wanted to play. Foley dodged this game, not LSU. Funny how the gator's QB is now healthy for THIS Sat's game. Just a coincidence, right?

There is no way LSU wins out. Both LSU and UF should lose atleast one more game so this game is not very important .

Don't get why that game wasn't played on time, or later that evening or worst case Sunday.

1) LSU isn't winning out.

2) It's almost a couple million just to buy out South Alabama. That doesn't touch refunding season ticket holders, the loss in concession revenue and other miscellaneous revenues, and the boon to a Baton Rouge economy that really needs the dollars after our flood in August.
