1. PAY OFF PC & USA and let them play each other he 19th and re-imbure whoever needs re-imbursement

2. Move WLOCP up one week to the 22 ( move it to Athens if needed ) and have uf/lsu game played the 29.

3. and this gets weird...and i think this is right

oct 22
ARK - OFF
AUBURN @ OLE MISS
LSU@UF

oct 29
ARK @ AU
LSU @ OM

The point is the game can be played.

My people are saying it will be played in Gainesville the day of the LSU/Bama game at 11 AM. The Tigers will fly back to BR to complete the doubleheader.

I think #1 is off the table. LSU isn't playing three SEC road games in 13 days because UForfeit can't come up with a better contingency plan than same day, same place, a few hours later.

If Sankey wants to salvage what's left of his reputation he'll do #2 or #3.

I personally think he has to move WLOCP. Florida made this mess they should be the most inconvenienced (sorry UGA).

As I posted in another thread...

Neither team will be in the SEC Championship game so if nothing else they can reschedule for that week.

And before anyone replies with something stupid or smartass....yes I know Auburn has no chance in hell of being in that game either.

I'm assuming you mean OM @ LSU?

This is interesting.

iF this game is played it'll be scenario 1. Why would LSU assume the screwing is over on this deal? There's no evidence to support the SEC giving a shite about what LSU would prefer.

They'll play it when they say and STFU just like playing the day after T-giving.

11/19 isn't horrible if sec pays us the lost rev and then moves A&M to Saturday.

The cocktail party moving up probably wouldn't be horrible for LSU and UF but I think Uga would be pissed

I gotta say, option #2 isn't a bad idea and you could get Georgia to agree by playing it in Athens. UForfeit deserves to be inconvenienced, not anyone else. As the host team, they screwed the pooch.

If this would have been done in any other business, the injured party would have them on their knees begging for a way to fix it. UForfeit owes LSU. Period. They didn't get destroyed by a storm, if they did, things would be different, and LSU would be more forgiving.

Both teams had contractual agreement and ample opportunity to play the game this weekend. One wanted and begged to play. The other team didn't want to play this weekend and chose to delay and fail to respond long enough to avoid playing a weekend it didn't want to play. SEC did nothing when it could have made the game happen this weekend - even in Gainesville since all have known since yesterday afternoon that the storm damage impact to the State of Florida was mostly going to be a non event. Turns out the game could have been played Saturday at later time and certainly could / should have been played Sunday or Monday if planned from Thursday as tentative if storm was as non impactful as it appeared it would be on Thursday night. Turns out it was even less impactful.

No reason to cost LSU, Ole Miss, UGA, S Alabama or Presbyterian fans - who are innocent in this fiasco - more loss of money they have spent and plans they made just because FL and SEC admin were cowards or incompetent. At this point, the fairest solution is to rule the game a forfeited loss by UF since it is UF who refused to support a solution to play the game this weekend when it was scheduled. But the SEC won't do that because it's complicit in this fiasco via inaction and incompetence. So we are simply left with the first canceled SEC game in a very long time because UF are cowards and the SEC is incompetent.

They cannot simply move the cocktail party to Athens or another weekend. First, the city of Jacksonville has a say because the schools have a contract with them for the game. More importantly, this is not simply a game where you have a hotel room for a night. People plan vacations around this game, rent condos and houses for the week or long weekend, etc. move or change the game, you are big time screwing those folks. As much as McGarrity likes to bend over and accommodate whoever asks him, this is a non starter

Curious as to who is going to write that $6.5M reimbursement check that LSU would be owed for losing game revenues on top of the $1.5 buy out to S.Alabama?

Idiot. You can't force other teams to change their schedule like that. Fans have plans set around these schedules. You'll end up with half empty stadiums if you start changing bye weeks around at this point.

# 1 works and will happen if Florida reimburses LSU for its loss of a home game. It's not pocket money though 5 to 8 million. That's why it won't happen. Unless the SEC forces LSU to do it without compensation. Which would be a travesty .
