Well that settles that and Im sure AU will forfeit that game in the name of good sportsmanship...right?

Still melting. Impressive.

Best outcome possible for Bama fans. It got rid of a great SEC coach and kept another shitty one (at least for awhile).

The clock operator was an AU grad.

Wait... Etling "guesses" that the "white hat" starts the clock???

Actually he raises a legit question about exactly how the snap procedure went down. Surely the Center would have been instructed to snap the ball as soon as possible? And yes, the QB being under Center does raise doubt about how the officials in the replay booth could see when the ball was in the QB's hands. But here's the problem. From the replay it appeared that there was a significant delay between the time the clock started and the QB receiving the ball. When there's just one second left on the clock, how do the officials synchronize the clock starting with the officials on the field signaling that the next play can begin? Yea, the referee blows the whistle but to me the clock should start when the whistle is blown. Who starts the clock and how is that synchronized with the officials on the field? If the Center snapped the ball as soon as he heard the whistle (and I don't know why he would not) then to me the play should have been legit. But if in fact the Center didn't snap the ball when he heard the whistle, then that's on the coach and the team for not being prepared for those specific circumstances. There was a review of the previous play; they had plenty of time to prepare.

It is basically impossible to get a play off in 1 second. An offense has to synch up and remain set for 1 second before snap. It's over.
People were still moving into place when snap occurred.
The inside receiver on the wide side of the field was covered the WR- ineligible.
Nobody was set for a full count before snap- illegal procedure.
Weird ending to a game.
Both coaches did enough to lose the game.

Ill give them to the next game, but yes it is. Now if this turns out to be one of those typical LSU melts that last several years, that will be quite impressive.

He has a legit gripe. The ref never signaled ready for play to my knowledge. At the same time there was an illegal motion so it's not like the play would have counted anyways

I mean, yeah, the guy caught the touchdown.
Too bad the clock ran out before the ball was snapped though, or else Les Miles would still be your coach.

Illegal motion on that play. The guy who caught the ball was an illegible receiver. You lost.
Also #83 who was in illegal motion was covering up #89 who was lined up on the line next to the left tackle. And #89 then being an ineligible receiver was WELL downfield on the play.
That's not even mentioning Leonard Fournette's tackle of Josh Holsey while the ball was in the air.
But, yeah, TOUCHDOWN!

the Auburn scoreboard operator started the clock before the whistle
Someone doesn't understand that the "scoreboard operator" has nothing to do with the official clock.
