Is this new information or have the talks been going on for a long time and I'm just now hearing about this? How far along are these talks? Who instigated the discussion, A&M or UT?

TAMU is scared to death of playing Texas. They wouldn't even play them when Texas was bad. You think they're going to play now that Texas is good?

That game was a ratings failure for the last 2 decades. It only captured a limited portion of TVs in Texas, much less the national audience. A&M/LSU is a much better game nationally.

No one I scared of playing Texas. I for one would love to have them as a permanent non conf game. Season opener would be great! Everyone would watch that game.

No ETA or anything official. Just was told by a connected party that "the Texas game will likely be back on the schedule sooner than later, and talks were already happening." He said 2018 was specifically being discussed and regular series potentially as early as 2020.
This person also told me in 2009 that the SEC was willing to take us by ourselves and in 2010 that the SEC was not off the table after we declined in 2010, so I consider him pretty reliable.
I just stood there with disbelief on my face.

I could see some scattered home and homes, but I agree that the Arkansas game at JW needs to end before this can be an annual affair and continue our OOC P5 scheduling philosophy.

That's the whole point. The schools with the two largest stadiums in the Big 12 never play the other at home.

The narrative is correct. We were sacred. We ran. We left the superbadass longhorns and the Big Twatever conference to come play in the weak, easy, SEC West, especially LSU.
Accept the narrative.
We're still not playing those frickers. I don't care what talks are happening right now. It sounds like a one-sided operation, and not our side.

both fly to LA but won't play each other
I'm sure the HOGS would be willing take the 2018 and 2019 clemson games from A&M so you could work out a deal to play texas those years.
