aTm aggies have what, like almost 80 losses to Texas

aTm aggie is skeeered

When you lose to a team almost 80 times, is that really a rivalry?

It's funny that Texas A&M thinks they are all of a sudden the big dogs and shot callers in Texas.

This is pretty short sighted. All it take is one or two solid years and UT becomes a strong OOC win for the Aggies if they win. Just because you would be favored this year (which we really don't know yet) doesn't mean you would be favored every year.

I begrudgingly agree with this.

Just because its a lose/lose for us in the short term (in terms of win value) does not mean it won't be a good win in the future.

It is, however, a lose/lose because the college athletics is a business. It's fun for fans, but a business, nonetheless. While competitors on the field, the point of the contest is to improve the financial and optical situation of BOTH participants.

The administration and athletic department of the university of texas has proved, over the past 120 years, to be incapable of being a decent business partner. Deloss Dodds made the situation infinitely worse, leading to the destruction of 2 conferences, but Dodds was a mere reflection of the attitudes and contempt of entire institution. The longhorns hate being equal partners. They only thrive when their conference partners have so little power that they serve in the role of the Georgia Generals to the Globetrotters.

The longhorns do not understand that their program is worthless if the have no opponents, and that their program is only as valuable as the opponents they compete against on the field. They STILL believe that they can set up a globetrotter conference and maintain the same level of revenue and fan support, which is their OVERTLY STATED GOAL.

THAT is the real issue.

It wouldn't be long before the longhorns would be trying to find a way to make the game all about them, and screwing us over once again. Just ask Arky or Missouri fans if you don't believe me.

Aggy has nothing to gain from reengaging the longhorns as business partners for any reason.

Very well. I agree.

Are you saying that we have no choice? We MUST play the longhorns because we're not the shot callers?

If that's what you take from my post, fine.

Why should we play the game? Sounds like a good decision to NOT play, right?

The calls for the game to return are directly proportional to the shittiness of the t.u. home schedule.

Texas has scheduled Blue Bloods to play now

LSU
USC Trojans
Ohio State
Michigan

seems better than playing 2nd tier teams

everyone happy

If it would help to restore a bunch of great old rivalries then we'll take LSU. Someone has to fall on their sword for the good of CFB and it might as well be us that gets the short straw.

Well, there is the issue of Kentucky losing 80 times to Tennessee.

But, you probably don't even know about that, do you? Because you're not a Kentucky fan.

So transparent and even more pathetic.

This.

Take a look at their home schedule, y'all. I'd be furious if that were us.

And the running away bit is truly one of the dumber things I keep reading on the internet.
