Will Saban/Kiffin really keep the QB competition open?

I would think after a true freshman rolls up 4 TDs in a little over a quarter the battle would be over

Might as well keep the other team prepping for two as long as you can.

This will be the case at least through Ole Miss.

As others have mentioned, Blake Barnett looked great once the nerves went away.

He also had 2 turnovers.
That's 2 huge strikes against you on the Saban scale.

It will be settled Saturday. Hurts will probably start, and if he shows out, then it's his. Barnett will still get more reps than our usual backups.

Charleston Southern?

Why wouldn't you want Hurts getting all the 1st team reps for a couple of weeks to prep for Ole Miss?

It's probably his job to lose now, but let's see how the Ole Miss game goes.

Western Kentucky, who won 11 games last year and has a prolific offense of their own, and then Ole Miss the following week.

Blake didn't look scared shitless when we were up 30, so he's got that going for him!

I want to see both in live SEC action in a hostile environment and see how they execute. OM game should provide a great opportunity.

Barnett played more consistent with 17 fewer plays.

Nobody will know until they are really challenged for at least the first 2 quarters...what a great position to be in for Saban!

That's why you aren't the best college football coach of all time, Joshua.
