quote:
Asked about a streaker who ran onto the field: "In my experience, I've learned women are better streakers."
quote:
When Jadeveon Clowney got a speeding ticket: "I didn't know Jadeveon's car could go that fast. He doesn't have a pretty car like those FSU guys used to drive."
quote:
When the Gators were playing at Tennessee's newly refurbished Neyland Stadium facility, asked at halftime how loud it was: "It was really loud, possibly louder than the Swamp. And then the game started."
quote:
And finally, this next one is not my quote. It was a story written and told by writer Chris Harry, then with The Tampa Tribune. He and his wife had gone to the movies and their babysitter answered the phone when I called, for some reason I've forgotten. It went like this, according to Harry:
She asked, "Is this Coach Spurrier? This is Christine. I'm Jeff Mitchell's girlfriend." [Mitchell was one of our best our offensive linemen.]
"Jeff Mitchell's girlfriend?" I responded. "Jeff Mitchell jumped offsides today!"
quote:
To a photographer as our team posed in the Georgia Dome in December 1995 after winning our third of four consecutive SEC championships: "This is becoming our annual team picture."

Alabama fans incoming to tell us he's not that funny.

What I love about the HBC is he's just naturally funny. You can tell he isn't trying to be funny when he says that stuff. I'll miss him

God Bless him ... he is one of a kind.

frick you.
He's not that funny. And I've been around him a few times. He's been intimidated about that whole Bama thing. His life's highlight has been kicking that fricking FG.
And quitting mid season.

Well yeah, a little bit. He was funnier when he had a team that could back it up.

So he was hilarious in 2010.

The HBC is going to be hard to replace with his wit and off the cuff remarks. I see only two coaches who could possibly fill those shoes-Bret & Coach Mac.

Actually, yeah, he was. He had a great game plan that day with a historically meh QB that enjoyed drink more than playing good football and beat Bama straight up. I hated it, but Spurrier could talk shite to his hearts content after that. He just looked silly the last couple of years.

“In 12 years at Florida, I don’t think we ever signed a kid from the state of Alabama … Of course, we found out later that the scholarships they were giving out at Alabama were worth a whole lot more than ours.”
