The purpose of this thread is to help others. Thats right, help others. What do you know? Im not talking about what you read about, what do you know that we can learn from you. Products, techniques, skills, etc. Teach me something.
OK, so we wont contaminate the other threads (recruiting), I will make this thread.

The purpose of this thread is to help others. Thats right, help others. What do you know? Im not talking about what you read about, what do you know that we can learn from you. Products, techniques, skills, etc. Teach me something.

Make your post, give information, and teach us other posters about something that you are either good at or experienced at. It can be about anything.

Since Jones is a hard headed asian, I will start with my tequila knowledge.

Don't drink shitty tequila. Im serious too. Don't let me catch you drinking Jose Cuervo or some bull shite tequila like that. It will hurt a old mans feelings.

Most of the time, people who have bad experiences with tequila do so because they drink piss tequila. Been there done that. But over the years, lots of them for me, I have learned a few things about this.

Always get tequila that is 100% agave. Just because its is does not mean it will be good but if it is not, you can be assured, you will feel like shite the next day.

My choices are below and some approximate costs.

Lanier's #1 choice is Don Julio. Yes, it is very similar to Patron but it is not quite as sweet as Patron. Both are great for sipping over ice or doing shots. I like the silver the best but I have had the dark and it is great for sipping.

#!

These two are also good but not at the level of Don. They are fine for mixing drinks and are much cheaper than the Don Julio

Milagro

Cabo Wabo

This is very good tequila. I had a customer bring me a bottle once as a tip on a guide trip and it is very good and about half the price as Don Julio or Patron. El Mayor Tequila. Easy to find as well.

My favorite drink with tequila you asked?

4 parts Don Julio
1 part fresh squeezed lime juice

Shake in a mixing cup with ice and pour over ice. Sip and enjoy.

You are welcome.

Same goes with bourbon, buy good bourbon and drink it on the rocks. If you have to mix bourbon with anything then you are buying crap bourbon like Jack Daniels. I don't buy high end bourbon but mid range bourbon is good on the rocks.

The Bulleit Rye is a separate product from the Bulleit Bourbon though, correct?

Alright boys and girls. Sattle up on a chair, sharpen your pencil, and pull out your highest quality grid paper.

Ah, bourbon.

Now you guys have my interest. I'm a novice in this area but I have a bottle of Clyde Mays, courtesy of my fiance's brother. I happen to know it's a little less than $40 IIRC

Now, I'm no OT baller but I do well enough to step it up. Where should I go from here and why?

people that drink for the taste are alcoholics. I drink to get shite faced. I want it to taste like fire and be strong enough to ignite and/or remove paint. that's the stuff that will get you there the fastest.

Never really liked bourbon until my wife planted some mint in the garden. Now, bourbon and I wage a mint war every Spring. I like Makers and Clyde May with water and ice. I save the mint juleps for Jim Beam or Southern Comfort.

Corralejo is also a very good, and affordable, tequila.

Tequila is for summer, bourbon is fall and winter. If mixing with anything, good ol' Jim Beam is all you need. My go to for straight is Makers Mark. My favorite bourbon overall is without a doubt Woodford Reserve Double Oakes. Wanna try some Pappy's though.

I have had the limeade / Tequila drinks. We have made them with our little machine. I bought this for my wife last year. Gets used a lot.

I dont mind sipping the tequila straight but just a touch of lime juice makes it perfect

I have not tried that version from them. They are the same company that makes
El Mayor in my post

I have not seen them locally either but will look for the Blanco (silver) and get a bottle...
