Another topic for another time
I know but it always fun to discuss. Almost as fun as when you start discussing Nolan and Frank stuff.

First the Trophy then by Fulmer.
Had a friend that worked for KPD and Johnny's biggest enemy was booze from the stories he told.

Troy Smith over DMAC is a travesty as well.
It's easy to forget how good Smith was in 2006 because of how badly they got beat in the national title. He deserved it that year.

Johnny drank, A LOT. I honestly think the bottle robbed him of his best years as a coach.

Speaking of Troy Smith, Jim Tressel was so overrated as a coach. Those Ohio State teams could match up physically and athletically with any team in the country and he would just get it handed to him on a yearly basis other than the miracle win over Miami.
He freaking sucked. You just knew when Urban took over they would dominate

Those stats do a pretty good job of convincing me to pick Manning.
Most people couldn't name another player on that Washington State offense. 1997 was a tough call for Heisman. 3 very worthy players.

A sad but all too common vice for coaches of that era.

Actually, Majors didn't place kick, but he was one of the best punters in the country. He was also a good kick off and punt returner.

Even so...he still has one heck of a memory. I love listening to him on WNML on Thursday afternoons during the season. Love the guy.

Terry Baker over Jerry Stovall 1962.
Even though I am an LSU homer, I think the Heisman guys got this one right. Baker threw for almost 1700 yards that year and rushed for close to 500 albeit not against teams like UCLA and USC because OSU was an independent at the time.
Stovall got as far as he did because he played both ways and was crazy good as a defensive back as well

Before any UT fan comes in with the Peyton argument I for one believe they got it right with Woodson that year, he had an incredible season.
I hate TN more than anyone! BUT Peyton should have won it.
