Garner is a great teacher of men.
Good news is the keeps the tradition of only signing one DE per class alive and well.

Just when I was talking myself into the possibility of having a good fall ahead.

Really you thought this guy was going to change our season somehow?
Love this board

3rd string freshman DE that started playing football 2 years ago has about a 0.000000001% chance of changing the W-L total of our season

quote:no kidding. Tega is going to make a great OT with a few years of teaching and strength and conditioning. IMO he is too tall to play DE, but should add depth to an OL group that is thin in the tackle position

He's not too tall to play defensive end, but he would likely fit better as a defensive end in a 34 defense, like Calais Campbell for the Arizona Cardinals.

Well he has the perfect size and athleticism to play OT

Started as a project, remains a project. Doubt we ever get anything out of him.

No I did not, to me it is more evidence that Gus has not learned his lesson from past projects. Seems to me under Gus we have either moved so many players around to the point they cant even get on the field after being decent recruits.

I'm really hoping they don't screw him over like the did Ladarius Owens a few years ago and gaining/losing weight and moving all around the field. Hopefully they will allow him to grow at whatever spot.

I hope so. Either way, at any position, he's incredibly raw and it's going to take him a couple years to develop more than likely. I hope the staff keeps him there instead of flip-flopping him around. Let him focus on one position.

It's a stretch to make that move with zero experience. Don't be stupid.

He has an uphill climb, but his potential makes him worth the risk, IMO.

Tuberville: Genius for finding project guys like Dansby at WR and repurposing him to LB where he physically is a better fit
Gus: Retard for finding project guys like Prince Tega and repurposing him to OT where physically he seems to be a better fit

Lebron can play PG but he is a better fit elsewhere
Tega may be able to play DE but a long limbed, incredible strong and agile person for his size will always make more sense at OT. For every Calais Campbell there are multiple Nate Solder or King Dunlap at 6'8
