IMO and in order:

11 Bama
11 LSU
92 Bama
12 Bama
09 Bama
09 Florida (didn't see 08 Florida)
03 LSU
97 Tennessee

08 Florida and 09 Florida are two TOTALLY different teams.
08 Florida would've smashed 09 Florida.

1995 Nebraska. If you ever watched them play, you would almost certainly agree. The level of dominance on both sides of the ball AND the consistency has not been seen before or after in the modern era.

2009 Alabama is an interesting team - I don't ever remember a team beating the best team in the country two games in a row. But it's hard to overlook having to block two field goals to win against Tennessee, and a comeback drive against auburn. From a won/loss resume, they are up there. But I don't believe they were a better team than 2011 Bama or 2011 LSU. After all, we were ever so close to seeing LSU play Oklahoma State for the title in 2011, and likely winning with them most impressive resume of any team in the modern era of football.

The VT game in 09 was very frustrating too. I think they were beating us at halftime.

Of the teams I've seen the most, probably '95 Nebraska...

But I also saw that '71 Nebraska team play a couple of games...I was only 9 then but that team was pretty special. Only team in history I know of that beat the #2, #3, and #4 teams in the final AP poll. The only close game they played was in "the Game of the Century" against Oklahoma (who finished #2) and that was an awesome game to watch. Then I saw 'em absolutely destroy my Bama team 38-6 (we were #2 at the time) in the Orange Bowl; I distinctly remember Johnny Rodgers running back a punt for a TD that game and he seemed like he was just toying with us...

Flip a coin between these two. Nebraska was more consistently dominant but Miami was more talented and it was just unfair when they were on their game.

1997 Michigan team has to be up there. Dad took me to the NC game and it is a day that I will never forget

Very good, not dominant like other teams listed. Struggled way too much with average Iowa and ND teams. Their slaughtering of a very good Penn State team in Happy Valley was awfully impressive though.

nah. miami needed some late heroics (a turnover returned like 90 yards) to escape VT with a 2 point win. Despite playing 4 top 10 teams, nu's smallest margin of victory all year was 14. They were untouchable. We will never again see a team as dominant as them. They are the greatest cfb team of all time and there really isn't another answer.

That was BC, not VT. They dominated VT all day but had to settle for field goals that kept the score down. My big takeaway from that BC game was how bad Miami sucked in cold weather.

Florida 2008 post Tebow speech-- that team just punished people on both sides of the ball, hell without their second best offensive player (who would win NFL rookie of the year the next season) they still beat Bama by double digits.

92 Bama and UF (both really good)
11 Bama and LSU (both games)
08 UF and Bama (Bama a stretch here as the O certainly had weak spots)
09 Bama and UF
