Are Ole Miss and MSU elite baseball programs?

Neither has ever won a national title, but many from both fanbases consider their schools to be elite. There is no doubt they both have elite venues, and both have made deep Omaha runs recently and are routinely top 20 teams.
But still.. no nattys. What say ye, Rant?

No Nattys no elite. Simple.

No. Good but definitely not elite.

I think you have to win a title to be considered elite.
There are a few SEC programs, like Miss. State, Ole Miss, Florida or Arkansas that are knocking on that door, if they can get over the hump and win a title or two.

I would say yes both are elite programs

No. I define elite as top five. They are not top five. Florida, LSU, Vandy and maybe S Carolina have a top five argument. No one else in the SEC does.
Now, if you define elite as top 20, then sure, they're both elite.

Not even close. No CWS titles, no elite.

I wouldn't say elite. But just below the top national title winners.

The only thing elite about either program is that they can draw a big crowd for a big game every few years.

State is definitely in that next tier beneath elite. Ole Miss, not so much.

Elite comes from being consistently good, good in the sense of making it to Omaha, not necessarily winning NC's. CPM has won one NC in the past decade. The next 2 coaches who have won more in the same period have won....2 NC's. Point being, NC are hard to win. So, getting to Omaha is, to me, more indicative of how good a program is. Florida is in that class for me.

I read this as "basketball" and was like wtf?

Routine top 20 is not elite. Good, but not elite

The only SEC schools who have won a national title and are thus elite programs are:
LSU
South Carolina
Missouri
Georgia
Vanderbilt
