I am puzzled about something: The NOA lists in charge number 8 a total of 16 incidents of illegal inducements, many of which involved Harris and/or Kiffin. The amounts were generally trivial, but there was a clear pattern, which one would assume is why this was deemed as a Level I violation. I'm not sure how these are classified by Freeze as mere mistakes since even the most casual fans know that there are strict rules about providing benefits. One of the incidents occurred at Freezes's house, and on another occasion Freeze was told by (name deleted) that (name deleted)'s son was providing academic tutoring to a recruit. Was Freeze that oblivious?
Here is what puzzles me. Was the Ole Miss coaching staff actually ignorant of the rules, of which even the most casual fans have some inkling? Did Ole Miss even provide its staff with the most minimal training? If we are to believe Freeze that there was no intent, there seems to be a high level of incompetence and gross mismanagement, and/or willful ignorance at best. I can't see the NCAA looking at this "we broke the rules but really were well-intentioned" line of defense with much sympathy.

I really am starting to wonder which NOA everyone on tRant read?

they are required to have compliance classes etc so I see it being 100% inconceivable that they did not know they were doing wrong?

The one with all the level one violations.

What are the specific NCAA allegations regarding Tunsil, Kemdeechee and Treadwell when they signed in Feb. 2013? Wasn't Freeze's tweet the following week asking for any evidence - and he got none?

The one that, guess what, doesn't matter who is there now, implicates the INSTITUTION. That doesn't go away...no matter how pious your coach claims to be. Plus, how does Bjork keep his job with THREE different sports having violations under his watch? Who gets to be the lamb to the slaughter? I bet the Rev would throw Bjork under the bus in a heartbeat to keep his job. It may come to that.

I know you are hurt. I know you are frustrated. It's not going to get any better for you.

That's all in the second letter, man. Second letter.

Oh, I'm not hurt. I see the blatant cheating that your favorite team has had exposed as a major violation of NCAA rules. Your coach said that nothing "illegal" was done. That is TOTALLY true. It isn't illegal to break NCAA rules. It is a violation of NCAA rules. Also, the attempt to throw all the allegations on to Houston Nutt doesn't hold water as an excuse, because it is the INSTITUTION that is on the hook for violations. Congrats that the "Cannon deal" has put your players in good rides.

It just shows you how much Mullen has done with less. If he was at ole miss it would have been lights out.
Most retarded post in this thread.

In the football program alone, Ole Miss admits to renegade boosters providing cash payouts to student-athletes, assistant coaches complicit in those payouts, and two former assistant coaches arranging the falsification of ACT tests for recruits and then attempting to mislead the NCAA when questioned about said activity. That last charge is the most damning and unconscionable of all the infractions leveled against, and admitted to, by the school.

Ross Bjork statement that he and Freeze have a great relationship--Translation-Hugh does everything I tell his country tobacco spitting arse to do.
Bjork went pale when Freeze said he got approval from Ross before tweeting out that infamous violations challenge.

You do realize Mullen will be the only active coach in the nation to be a member of the NCAA Committee on Infractions. He is replacing Mark Richt. Another NCAA safeguard. Having your biggest rivals HC in a position to end your career.

Damn--replacing the saintly Mark Richt with the Antichrist Mullen might send Freeze to a Tunsil Bong Mask.

quote:Nonsense. Mullen took Richt's spot on the Oversight Committee. Has absolutely nothing to do with COI.

That's a good point.
But I cannot figure out what Bjork is doing when he backs him so strongly in the interview. That part is a little confusing. Did I hear that Bjork was considered a candidate for other A.D. positions? UCLA?
Serious question.

Oh...So he was only referring to cheating THAT time? I get it now, but coach should be more specific next time.

"Cheating" becomes a "mistake" after you get caught.
Rev. Freeze tearfully says "I have sinned!" He would make Jimmy Swaggert proud.
