Can't wait for his dismissal, and his wife's subsequent social media meltdown.

Pat Forde is saying that he is hearing that a second Baylor report is going to be released soon.
He is also talking about Ole Miss utilizing the MS media to enhance recruiting ahead of their NOA.

Wow that is a pretty big thing to admit considering he still works at Baylor.
To be clear, Lebby (the RB coach) has not said anything. Chafin (player who allegedly hit his gf) did. Chafin was booted.
To my knowledge, no Baylor coach outside Grobe has said anything. I'm sure legally they can't.
Which made me wonder when the Big 12 media days were. I think they usually come right before the SEC iirc and the SEC is set for Jul 11 - 14. Google is not pulling anything up for the B12.
If we're only a few weeks out I do wonder if Baylor sends anyone but Grobe.

I wish I could give more of my thoughts but I honestly don't know much about the situation. I've been so hammered at work I've basically given up on trying to keep up with everything.
If I were the AG, I'd be wanting to put an investigation together for prosecutorial and police misconduct asap to cover my arse. Sounds like this was a coordinated effort to protect players to some extent.
Football staff is definitely implicated in a crime. But these situations often don't result in charges being brought. If any complaint is filed, the DAs office should recuse themselves and bring in an outside prosecutor. That prosecutor, while neutral, would probably want to cover his own arse and would refer the entire thing to grand jury before considering indictment, and who knows what they would do.

Good call.

So the Baylor big shots are meeting to rethink the firing of Briles and possibly turn it into a one year suspension
Posted on 6/13/16 at 8:16 am to Old Sarge
Wow. That's just disgusting.

While it would be disgusting and completely abhorrent, I hope they do this. The shite-storm would be unbelievably huge and would cripple them for generations.

Chip Brown is reporting it so color me skeptical.
It would really show how desperate they are for success though.

Sorry for replying to myself, but a better source than Chip Brown:

While a small minority of Baylor donors have been pushing behind the scenes to bring back Art Briles as football coach in 2017 — effectively giving him a one-year suspension — it is unlikely to result in any action, USA TODAY Sports has learned. A person with knowledge of the situation, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the private nature of the discussions, said there is indeed a faction of voices within the school’s Board of Regents still supporting Briles and urging the school to bring him back. But those voices, the person said, were few in number at this point and considered to be on the margins.

The push by Drayton/Bob Simpson push is starting to hit the mainstream sports media outlets. The backlash will likely kill any small chance it had of happening. It's unreal how tone deaf they are PR wise with this

fricking called it
So pathetic that it doesn't even surprise me.

The scuttlebutt right now is that Baylor is fighting an internal battle with many trying to contort this thing to allow for Briles to be suspended for a year and come back in 2017.
It sounds absurd, but I admit there isn't much explanation for why Kendall Briles is being retained, Grobe was hired and Briles hasn't been fired yet. His termination hasn't even been brought up for an official vote yet much less approved.
It's very odd

Baylor interim president David Garland told WFAA that the BU board's Monday night meeting is not about Art Briles.

seems like a no-brainer. I mean didn't Chip start this?

I knew I would regret opening those, but I didn't think I would regret it this much.
