There was a post a couple of weeks ago about surprising matchups that had never happened for your team. It got me curious as to which conferences SEC teams might have losing records against on the whole.

For UGA, we've got none. If we don't bother to count "Independents" for this, only Florida, Tennessee, and Auburn can make the same claim. to the Big4...

Quick glimpse and I came with the below

West:

Ole Miss
B1G - 2-4-0
(tenuous lead against Big XII - 14-12-0)

Auburn
None (other than Independents - Army 1-2)
Lead tight against Big XII (14-10-1), American (28-24-6), B1G (11-8-2)

Alabama
Big XII - 8-14-2
"Independents" - 4-5 (thanks to a 2-5 run against ND)
(MAC lead very tenuous at 2-1 )

LSU
B1G - 9-14-2
Independents - Army 0-1, ND 5-6

Miss St
ACC - 14-22-1
Big XII - 11-12-3
B1G - 3-9-1
Pac12 - 0-3-0
SEC - 218-412-20

Arkansas
ACC - 1-7-0
B1G - 2-8-0
Pac12 - 4-6-1
SEC - 167-184-8

aTm
ACC - 13-16-0
B1G - 13-22-0
SEC - 82-100-6
Even Stevens against Pac12 and Independents

Rest of East:

Tennessee
None
Lead in jeopardy against Big XII (9-8) and Pac12 (17-15-4)

Florida
None unless you count "Independents" (1-3)

South Carolina
ACC - 190-229-22
Big XII - 10-11-1
B1G - 17-26-0
MWAC - 1-2
SEC - 105-183-10
Independents - 2-5-0

Vandy
American - 36-46-5
B1G - 17-24-2
MWAC - 2-3-0
Pac12 - 0-1-0
SEC - 202-408-24
Independents - 5-6

Kentucky

B1G - 28-36-4
SEC - 171-399-20

Missouri
ACC - 8-11-0
American - 18-19-4
B1G - 83-128-7

So we only suck against schools we are in direct geographic proximity to? That's a surefire recipe for success.

Tough due to inconsistent membership timelines... also, I'm lazy... might do it later on this evening after work if the kiddo goes to sleep early.

Completely understand, but for our conference members who spent a large portion of time in it it would be interesting.

Vandy, South Carolina, and Miss St it would have been easier to the conferences they have a winning record against.

Wasn't there another gif somewhere that had that same text on it?

Our record against the B1G is thanks in large part to Nebraska. Playing against them, and losing most of the time, for over 100 years will do that.

LOL - was more pointing out how poor we are historically against the big 2 in that league.

I was curious:

Mizzou is 248-228 (52.1%) all time against the current Big 12.

Use College Football Trivia. Pick a program and select 'Conferences' under 'View Opponents By'.

Texas wasn't in the Big 12 until 96 though. Same with OU.

This is misleading, as most of our losses to B1G schools occurred before they were in the B1G.

Nebraska 0-5-1 (all in Big 8)
Maryland 0-3 (0-1 in ACC, 0-2 in Southern Conference)
Penn State 0-2 (0-1 when independent)
Rutgers 0-1 (when independent)

Total: 0-10-1 when not in B1G

Vs. teams that were in the B1G when we played:

Ohio State 1-1-1
Michigan State 1-0
Wisconsin 3-0
Iowa 1-1
Penn State 0-1 (PSU's win vacated, but loss still counts for us)
Indiana 2-1
Illinois 1-0

Total: 9-4-1

Correct, y'all are 9-4-1 against the Big 10.

And Penn State got all of their vacated wins back.

Also add:

Miami 8-3 when independent
Florida State 2-7 when independent
Penn State 0-1 when independent
Rutgers 0-1 when independent
Syracuse 1-1 when independent
South Carolina 8-1 when independent

Total vs. all teams when major independents: 24-21
