And that somebody was Chiz.
That 04 team is the reason why preseason absolutely do matter.

Putting Miles above Saban is laughable.

Miles has done better at LSU than Saban did there?

Miles isn't a bad coach but he owes his national title to Nick Saban. If Saban had stayed at LSU, LSU would have won at least 4 or 5 more national titles by now.

Dubose destroyed Alabama in multiple ways. He would not be ahead of Shula, or Price, or any coach in history with the POSSIBLE (but not definite) exception of Ears Whitworth.

Percentage wise, Miles slightly leads in wins (.778 to .750), but Saban leads percentage wise in wins in conference play (.700 to .693).
Both have 2 SEC championships and 1 national championship.

1. Sherrill
2. Slocum
5. Franchione
What's tricky is 3 and 4.
Mike Sherman had pathetic results, but was a likeable guy doing things the right way. Sumlin is an asshat.

I'm skipping JLS because he was just an interim head coach.
