I believe Bret can build the team, but Petrino had more success than Bret currently has. BCS appearance and was ranked #3 going into the final weekend in 2011.

He's a good coach but he's not better than Petrino

Petrino had more success because of one recruiting class from in state. Petrino did not recruit well, at all. Petrino was a good coach, but his downfall will always be the defensive side of the ball and the lack of recruiting there. That is why under him, Arkansas would beat everyone but Alabama and at times LSU. He was so controlling. He will not let his defensive coordinator call his own defense. Petrino has his own defensive play book and the DC must stick by that book and not sway from it.
Petrino will always put his best athletes on the offensive side of the ball. It doesn't matter if they are a key cog on the defensive side. If they can play just a hint of offense, that is where they are going.
Bret to me, is building the program the right way. Strong in the trenches on both sides. Has an offensive and defensive coordinator that he lets do their own coaching. He doesn't meddle unless he feels there is a need. He is likable and isn't a dick.

I loved CBMFP. But, he let a lot of people down for Little Bobby. I was extremely disappointed when the facts came out.
I do like the direction of the program under CBB. We haven't had a HC focus on the defensive and offensive lines. I also like the idea of forming a team of 85 Uncommon Men. If he does that, the team will be tough to beat. IMO

Bert is a better fit for our program and a better man. We're fortunate to have gotten him.
He has a plan and I'm anxious to see it come to fruition..
Petrino is self explanatory..

I don't. I'm not sucking a coach's dick over a Texas bowl and a liberty bowl
I don't buy how long it supposedly takes to "build a program"

Who said he was? Is this one of those cases of one or two Arkansas fans saying something and someone on the Rant running with it like the whole fanbase thinks it?

Well, but for an Anthony Jennings prayer to Travin Dural, he would be 3-0 vs LSU.

Because Petrino is at another school

Bielma did well at Wisconsin. But he's done awful at Arkansas. Everybody but hog fans knows that.

Bielema has been phenomenal at Arkansas. It's extremely tough to win there

Arkansas is a much easier place to win than either of the Mississippi schools, and probably easier than tamu.

It's because Petrino is not there now. Everyone who has watched Arkansas under the 2 coaches know that Petrino has proven to clearly be better. The facts prove it. Arkansas fans that love Bert are like Vol fans . It's always about how good they will be next year.

Petrino runs a system that is easier to mask the deficiencies. It's the reason less talented teams run systems similar, and also the reason Petrino was able to win more games in year 3. Bielemas system is more sustainable but takes a little longer to establish.
In the end , both coaches are successful coaches and both have and will win at arkansas

3-9 7th in the West
7-6 7th in the West
8-5 3rd in the West
2 Bowl wins came over 6-7 Texas and 6-7 Kansas State
0-13 in first 13 SEC Games and 7-17 in the SEC through 3 seasons
Overall 18-20 in 3 years
Wouldn't say that phenomenal is the right word here.

Petrino peaked at arkansas. he has slid back at Louisville.
