He's been here long enough where he has to. Do the right thing, TT9, or be SHAMED!

It's in this thread not far down the first page
Even though this is only the Internet, if you make a bet, you should keep your word. I hate a liar.

i dont think bateman is the best qb on our roster. i think he might be the guy who will throw the fewest interceptions, which means he probably is going to be the starting QB. Blake Barnett certainly looked the best to me in the spring game, made some great throws. i dont think cornwell has the accuracy to go with his big arm

I'm sold on Saban, so I spend no time even thinking about it.

I'm not. But of course it's early, there's not enough footage on him to really tell, and a lot of us haven't been right about the quarterback battle the past 2 years. (Not that some didn't call who would start, but I think we all underestimated what kind of success they'd have)

Of course I hope he proves me wrong, just like Sims did. He sort of looks like he lacks confidence and leadership to me. A little stiff as well. But I say again, I'm just going off what little I've seen of him. He could come out and be incredible for all anyone knows.

Bateman isn't the most talented.. Then again, Saban likes game managers and I think Bateman will be a fine game manager... Don't think we will ever sign an Andrew Luck type or a QB that will go first round(for the foreseeable future) but die Saban's system a QB only needs to not make stupid decisions and Bama will be just fine... Bateman, if he is the man, will be just fine..

I liked him a lot coming out of high school. He's got talent and has had 3 years to learn what CNS wants out of his QB. If he gets the nod, I'm confident that he has the tools and that CLK will craft a game plan to utilize his strengths whole masking his weaknesses.

Bateman isn't as fast as Sims and doesn't have the size or arm strength of Coker nor the deepball passing of Sims. Doesn't have the it factor that AJ had.

He is probably on par with JPW and McElory. Just doesn't need to turn the ball over like those two did and Bama will be fine.

To counter that, he's a better runner/athlete than JPW, GMAC, AJ, and Coker. Remains to be seen whether or not he has the "it" factor.

He is the only QB in the Saban era to start a game and get benched.

Ok. You could also say that he's the only player under CNS to unseat a starting QB (Coker)

That's true. However, from what the coaches said, they wanted to use his legs and speed in more of a read option attack against Ole Miss. After, he was completely ineffective in that approach he was benched. Coker ran the ball better in that game, then he did. Bateman just didn't have the “it” factor.

I remember people saying AJ didn't have the it factor after the '10 iron bowl, BS didn't have it after throwing as many picks as completions on A-day, Coker didn't have it after losing QB battles at FSU and Bama. Maybe you're right and Bateman doesn't. Have to wait and see how it plays out.
