Historically, it is where they put the best midmajor conference AQ while the 5 seed are good but flawed P5 teams.

A well coached midmajor filled with upperclass veterans easily can take down a top flight but flawed P5 team

The difference in class/quality between NMSU and Noertheastern was night and day... and just one seed line difference

Once you get into the AQs, you have to remember the difference between a 12 to 13 seed is an entire step down in conference

I'm just glad we didn't draw them. Lunardi had us projected to play them in one of his last projections.

So at the risk of asking for opinions . . .

. . . was there anything with the elevation worries? Didn't see listened to Sonny and Rod.

NMSU could have easily been as high as a 7 seed. They got screwed worse than us in seeding.

Rule of thumb, never trust any matchups from a projected bracket.

The committee has rules/procedures to change seeding/matchups to avoid rematches too early in the tournament

Anybody watched Kansas much? I’ve basically watched ACC/SEC/Big East this season. How does Lawson get his buckets?

Every time I watched them, they lost and didn't look great.

Based on KenPom

Games where KU gives up >35% 3FG

W/L: 9-8

Games where KU gives up <35% 3FG
W/L: 17-1

Game made me hurt... Up by 15. Then up by 8 with a minute and something left. Went to the shop and all the sudden it was a 2 point game

We are far and away #1 in the country too.

For perspective, KU's 18.4% is middle of the pack in D1 at #178. That middle of the pack 18.4% would be Auburn's 5th worst game

Per Kenpom, AU has only 12 games of Offensive Efficiency Under 110.
AU attempted 30+ 3FGA in 4/12 such games

AU conversely has 24 games of Off Efficiency over 110
AU attempted 30+ 3FGA in 17/24 such games.

Our offense is better the more 3s we shoot.

Kansas fans think their team turns the ball ovet way too much and has subpar 3 point defense

Sounds like extremely good news if that holds true

I like the analysis but one might ask if in the games where there were less attempts from beyond the arc of the looks just weren’t there.

When has that ever stopped our guys from shooting anyways?

Fair enough

Watched Pearl’s press conference. Our players are exhausted after this game. Hope taking tomorrow off generates fresh legs cause KU had a dang cakewalk today.
