Spinoff: Who is the biggest College Bust?

Every team has those highly touted recruits that just seem to fall into nothingness, get in trouble, injured, etc.
For Auburn, please don't kill me fellow Aubies, but Carl is teetering on the edge here. Can clear his name with a solid year upcoming. Jeremy is the obvious pick
I'm sure Bama has more than anyone with the amount of 5*s they bring in.

Russell Shepard recently. LSU doesn't run the style of offense that he would have excelled in. He would have been better than Dennis Dixon if he went to Oregon.

And not collecting an NFL paycheck right now

He was done before he even got started with that injury in that stupid state all-star game, but he's not even remotely close to the biggest college bust. He wasn't rated high enough, for one thing.

Does super recruit who started out like a house of fire and turned into dogshit count? If so, Quincy Carter is the easy choice.

Tough break(s) for the kid. Was never the same after his injury. Even after transferring elsewhere, he blew out the other knee.

Not really. There was Tyler Love and B.J. Scott back in '08. Since then just Eddie Williams. Tony Brown is kind of teetering on the line.
I wouldn't call Lawson a bust (I assume that's the Carl you're referring to). He's been a beast when he's actually played.

He said college bust, home skillet.

That's the part I'm referring to. I love the guy but the amount he has played has been disheartening. Not that it's his fault

Xavier Carter, BJ Scott, Darius Winston, Zeke Pike, come to mind in the west

There are may that get kicked out that should have been great.
Not Alabama but Ryan Periloux (sp?)
Calloway from Bama was another.

Anthony "Freak" Johnson
Never lived up to his nickname or his #1 HS DT ranking, then he declared a year early for the draft and went undrafted

Perilloux getting the boot put us back 3-4 years at the qb position.

Ryan Perrilloux is the clear answer for LSU. He blew up the line of solid QB play and Les Miles still hasn't really recovered from it.

Trey Quinn. Didn't the guy set a LA high school record?

I agree, but I will always wonder what his college career would have been like if he was Coached by O.
He literally got ZERO coaching here from Brick.
Chris Davenport is another bust

Darius Winston for sure, was a 5 star CB coming out of HS and was a back up his whole career. Arkansas had some really bad corners in those years so it just shows how bad he really was
