Are you serious right now?

Telling a kid he has to wait 3 years to turn pro just doesn't sit well with me.

Well...that's exactly what the baseball rule does?

Simmons made the worst decision of his life going to LSU. This definitely keeps future prospects from wanting to go to that program after seeing the utter dysfunction that the program is allowed to put on the court. It's embarrassing quite frankly. He'll be the 3rd ever number one pick to miss the tourney. What an absolute joke.

I think the argument that fundamentals in the NBA are gone is rather stupid. The game changes and styles change but the basic fundamentals are still there.
Let's examine FT percentage, probably the most fundamental part of the game.
1950, league average was .733
1960, league average was .733
1970, league average was .745
1980, league average was .751
1990, league average was .765
2000, league average was .748
2010, league average was .763
current year it's at .756
The highest years all time are 1973 and 2008 at .773.
The worst stretch in the last 40 years was from 1993 through 1998.

Completely agree, one and done has destroyed college basketball.
You can't grow and develop a team anymore, at least not with elite players.
I have to agree. It isn't college basketball anymore. It's the D league, especially for schools like UK and Duke.
I used to have fun following favorite players through their 4 years at UK. Now, as talented and personable as they might be like Anthony Davis, Demarcus Cousins and John Wall, they're gone after one year.
I don't follow pro bball, so when they leave UK that's it for me. I can't even name all the greats that have played at UK as OADs without looking them up.
I used to be able to rattle off the players' names without thinking. OAD sucks.

I'm probably the only one but I advocate no rules for pro participation except that once you play pro you can't come back to college sports. Go straight out of college or at any time - even midseason. This is America. The Land of the Free.

Well, baseball model gives them a choice, so......

Should just be removed altogether.

It's clear a bunch of people don't know the baseball rule so...
You can go straight out of high school to the draft and get drafted. If you decide to play college ball you have to wait 3 years before you can go to the draft again

I get it. But I don't like that in basketball, either. Players should be free to go pro after high school.
