4* LB KJ Britt doesn't have leader right now. Says AU/UGA in his top 2 with UF not far behind. Here are a few quotes from KN article

quote:

“Right now, I’m just chilling,” Britt said at The Opening. “Just taking it day by day, knowing that I do have options. I’m not in any rush right now. I’m making my decision on a day-by-day basis.”

quote:

At Auburn, one thing stands out.

“The need for linebackers,” Britt said. “I know I can get playing time right off the bat.”

His bond with the staff also is key to his recruitment.

“I’ve connected with Coach (Travis Williams), Coach (Gus) Malzahn, Coach (Kevin) Steele), Coach (Rodney) Garner — just the whole staff,” Britt said. “It’s a good atmosphere there. It’s a college campus. I’m from down that way. Everything is nice down there. I enjoy visiting them.”

Tentative commit date in August but could change

5* ATH Jacoby Stevens says his top 3 are UGA/LSU/AU. Some quotes from KN article

quote:

The 6-feet-2, 200-pound Stevens, who would play safety and/or receiver at Auburn, is the No. 24 overall recruit in the 247Sports Composite.

He visited Auburn for the first time in early June and the Tigers have continued to heavily pursue him. Offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee is his area recruiter. But Stevens also knows another Auburn assistant well -- defensive coordinator Kevin Steele.

"I think very highly of Auburn," Stevens said. "Coach Rhett Lashlee is doing his job and Coach Kevin Steele is who I committed to at LSU, so there are a lot of things that go into them being in the mix."

quote:

As for Georgia, which leads in the 247Sports Crystal Ball ...

"Georgia has something special going on," Stevens said. "I cannot forget that. Right now, they still stand in a good position for me. I guess you could say Georgia has an edge, but right now everything is even."

Plans to commit by end of the month. Looks like an UGA lock right now but I imagine we stay in the conversation

I am actually pretty shocked that UGA has so much momentum with a brand new coach with zero head coaching experience. You would think that a lot of kids would be a wait and see mentality with them minus the kids that dream of playing at home and some key defensive guys knowing what system Smart will run.

This seems fairly common in recruiting lately. New coaches are able to be sell being a part of something new, changing the culture, turning the program around, or whatever you want to call it and kids seem to really buy into it.

Don't forget that UGA is the "flagship" Georgia athletic program. Just seems like they finally got someone who could take advantage

Smart is an outstanding recruiter and has great relationships with high school coaches in GA. I am not that surprised. I am very interested to see if he can get an offense going there. You know he will build a great defense but so did Muschamp at UF but if you can't score won't matter

Also I still believe AU will get their guys from GA. Main thing for us right now is showing an upward trend on the field. We do that then we will finish just fine this year

that probably has a lot to do with it. Looking at their current commits, they only have 3 OOS guys (I don't count beal at img since he started in GA). Richt for whatever reason let a bunch of big GA guys leave the state, kirby just seems able to sell the "stay home and play for the home state" mindset.

If they have another subpar season this year like last year I doubt they carry the same momentum they have now.

New insider up by KN. Here's summary

- 3* DE Guy Thomas has become a DE target for AU & is visiting this Saturday with 2018 commit & teammate Robert Hicks. He was at AU's satellite camp in Miami earlier this summer. Name to keep an eye on moving forward as we need a pass rushing DE this cycle

- 4* DE Jarez Parks will visit this Monday. He is heavy UF lean but AU has stayed on him

- 5* ATH Jacoby Stevens says it's down to AU/LSU/UGA but KN believes CLEM/BAMA are players. As of now he plans on visiting next weekend for big picnic weekend. Was once committed to LSU when Steele was there & still has great relationship with him. KN does not believe he is the lock to UGA that many think. We will see...

- Former AU commit 4* JUCO WR Brandon Martin is confused. Many close to him thinks he ends up at AU but BAMA/UK/LSU are players. LSU probably being the main one to watch. Not sure they will have spot for him tho (my opinion)

- 4* WR Jeremiah Holloman briefly trended Tigers before becoming major UGA lean. Brahms has been working on him and he plans to visit today. Chances are he announces soon so this could be our last shot

- 5* WR Tyjon Lindsey making long visit from CA today & will stay over the weekend. Considered Ohio State lean but got super excited by offer from AU earlier this year. Should know more after his visit

- New DB name on the board: 4* ATH Christopher Henderson. He is currently a Miami commit but Wesley McGriff is working on him. He is on campus for 7v7 tourney. We are recruiting him as CB

- KN says we not players for 4* S Xavier McKinney who recently decommitted from bama. Apparently has not heard from us in awhile

- 4* WR Henry Ruggs also on campus for 7v7 & AU is his #2 school. Bad news is he is 99% a lock to Bama. Unless they don't have room for him probably not landing him

- We are still recruiting 3* JUCO OT D'Marcus Hayes but are not rushing anything as we don't want to lose the 2 guys we have at OT. Also still want 5 OL

- Not much noise on QB front outside of 4* ATH Tray Bishop. We get last shot at him before he commits. UGA is a big time player here with UF being the darkhorse. Right now KN puts odds at 55/45 AU

I like the idea recruiting Booker T heavily. I want Guy Thomas.

We need to grab multiple DEs anyways

New coaches tend to always have positive momentum for some reason. Kirby is also well known, well respected and already has relationships with the kids in Georgia.

KN slideshow on who could be next commit

Summary for those that hate slideshows (sidenote KN seems to be getting annoyed with everyone saying how they hate slideshows so he made VIP post recapping it )

4* ATH Tray Bishop - AU/UGA battle with UF lurking, 55/45 AU at the moment but that could change. Announces July 25th

4* RB Devan Barrett - AU/TEN battle. Gets along real well with players already on team & likes look of depth chart. Former teammate of Nate Craig-Myers

4* JUCO WR Brandon Martin - AU/AL/LSU/UK battle with AU still feeling good about position despite decommit

4* DE MJ Webb - Will probably grow into a DT. Tennessee made a recent move so AU/SCAR/TEN battle. Missing our big recruiting event next weekend to visit SCAR instead....

4* LB Will Ignont - At one point almost committed to AU. KN says AU is concerned about maturity issues but as far as he can tell they continue to recruit him hard

4* LB KJ Britt - AU/UGA battle. Loves T-WILL but loves class being built in UGA. Will be a battle

4* DE Ryan Johnson - Another guy that could grow into a DT. AU feels good about chances but bama going all out for him. Also Stanford is a factor as he is a high academic guy

4* LB Tyler Taylor - AU offer was one he wanted most. Apparently other recruits are saying they think we lead. Was on campus past Thursday for 7v7 tourney & will probably announce this fall. Former teammate of Derrick Brown

4* WR Jeremiah Holloman - AU/UGA battle with Dawgs trending. Visiting today

3* DE Guy Thomas - Visiting this weekend. McGriff very close with his HS coach. None of the big 3 schools in Florida have offered at this point so AU could sneak him away

KN posted slideshow on AU's offensive board right now

Summary below

QB
4* Tray Bishop - AU/UGA battle with AU leading but UGA not far off
4* Lowell Narcisse - Former AU commit now LSU commit that AU might possibly make a run at due to LSU having another QB committed currently who is pro style & probably better fit
4* Kellen Mond - The Aggie commit chose state of Texas over better fit at AU. If Sumlin's seat heats up AU could be back in play
4* N'Kosi Perry - Miami commit who had interest in AU earlier this year. The Cane have another QB commit that is pro style & better fit for Richt. Could be someone we push for later
3* Kadarius Toney - UF commit that doesn't have AU offer as of now but we could become players if we offer

RB
5* Cam Akers - Former Tide commit that says AU might get an official. Ole Miss, LSU, Georgia, Ohio State & Tennessee also in the hunt. Just FYI from reading UGA stuff they probably have their 2 in Toneil Carter & eventually D'Andres Swift so probably not a factor. My opinion is Ole Miss & Ohio State are the 2 to watch
4* Devan Barrett - AU/TEN/UNC battle with AU the favorite as of now. He is visiting this weekend came in yesterday. Personal opinion he could be on commit watch this weekend
4* Ty Chandler - He loved AU when visited in spring but nothing since then. Ole Miss legacy but no one really knows what he is thinking. Personally I think he ends up a Vol

TE
3* Tre McKitty - Chose Oregon over AU at The Opening. AU plans to keep recruiting him. Also watch out for FSU. Personally I don't think he ends up a Duck
4* Josh Falo - AU is very high on Oregon commit but not much has happen for AU. Apparently he is open to flip (side note what's with Oregon getting these TEs?)
3* Kemari Averett - Louisville commit visiting next weekend. Only recently been in talks with him

Just a note KN says we could take 0 TEs as well if we don't find a target we like. In other words don't expect any fillers at TE this season

WR
5* Tyjon Lindsey - Visited this weekend & supposedly loved it. Ohio State still team to beat but AU hopeful they will get official visit
4* Jeremiah Holloman - Was on campus yesterday & likes AU but UGA the clear team to beat & he on UGA campus right now. Could commit soon which would be bad for AU
4* Brandon Martin - Was committed to AU for 5 days then decommitted for really no obvious reason. Apparently many people close to him along with those at AU think he still ends up a Tiger. Apparently Bama, UK & LSU are recruiting him now too
3* Xavier Jenkins - Recently decommitted from UGA & KN expects AU to give him a look
4* Hezekiah Jones - Visited in June with Mond. AU hoping to get an official but A&M considered favorite due to his friendship with Mond
4* Henry Ruggs III - Ruggs visited AU on Thursday & AU seems like #2 team but Bama is far & away #1. If they have room he will go to the Tide
3* Justin Marshall - Recently camped with AU & apparently impressed. AU will follow him over the fall

OL
4* Tony Gray - AU wants him as a guard & he really likes Herb Hand. However hasn't visited in awhile & is considered UGA lean but KN says he still seems pretty open
4* Kendall Randolph - Could play either OG or OT has visited AU a bunch & KN thinks we are in this more than people realize. But he is a Bama legacy so I have low expectations
4* Badara Traore - #2 JUCO OT in the country that AU is tracking. Tigers want one more tackle & could grab someone from JUCO ranks
4* Netori Johnson - Former Bama commit turned UGA commit is someone AU still pursuing. Good relationship with former teammate Antwuan Jackson & likes Herb Hand but as of now seems solid to Dawgs
4* Cesar Ruiz - Ruiz is the #1 C prospect in nation & AU likes him a lot. He said over spring AU would get official but this right now is apparently a Bama/Mich battle
3* D'Marcus Hayes - Another JUCO guy we are looking at. High on AU board but AU being patient to fill that last OT spot
