some of the draftnik types had him as a mid-draft guy in the 4th or 5th round. Supposedly very football savvy.

JGT's article is what got me thinking about him, as I completely forgot about him when we were discussing Steele/D Talent awhile back. Here is what AuburnSports said about him

ETA: Does have me curious about the speed of our defense. If Davidson gets serious snaps, our DL will be 275-305+-305+-255 with two bigger thumper type LBs. We'd be asking a ton of our CB/S and 3rd LB/HyridLB/Nickel to have the range to go sideline to sideline
Luckily, other than Clemson/Ole Miss/TAMU, there really aren't offenses on our schedule that attack the sidelines heavily

My bet is you see plenty of Darrell Williams against those spread teams and then double up Neal & Tre against teams like Bama, UGA & Arkansas

He is still ~235lb and not likely to be a massive upgrade sideline to sideline.
We could run a ridiculously cool 3-3-5 (hybrid). The following front 7 would be dirty and perfect for that
DE- Davidson/Dev Lawrence
NT- Donty Russel
DE- Mon Adams
OLB - Lawson/Cowart (situational Darrel Williams)
MLB - Neal
OLB - Tre Williams
Hybrid LB/S - Monty Atkinson

I think Atkinson gets a lot of run at LB in dime and nickel packages where it's a likely pass down.

certainly not a bad idea. Honestly I think Ford would be the more likely guy to move into the box. He seems less effective the further away from the LOS he gets.
