You guys ready?
quote:
At this time, it appears the worst of the severe weather will be near and east of the Mississippi River late Tuesday morning into the afternoon. This means far eastern and southeastern Arkansas may have an elevated chance for severe storms with damaging winds and even a tornado or two possible. Once the developing line of storms crosses into Mississippi and Tennessee, the line is expected to intensify.
quote:
Thunderstorms are expected ahead of an advancing cold front from the Ohio Valley to the Lower Mississippi Valley and the northern Gulf Coast.Afternoon and Evening Threat Areas: Severe storms may rumble across parts of eastern Arkansas, far southeast Missouri and Louisiana into Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, southern Illinois and southern Indiana.Overnight Threat Areas: The chance for a few severe storms may linger overnight in a swath from southwest Ohio and southeast Indiana through middle/east Kentucky, middle/east Tennessee, northwest Georgia, Alabama, southeast Mississippi, southeast Louisiana and the western Florida panhandle.Main Threats: Damaging wind gusts, large hail and at least some tornadoes could develop in this environment. Uncertainty exists regarding the number of tornadoes. There is a potential for a long-tracking strong tornadoes given the strong wind fields forecast.

We've had much warmer temps than usual here in February. I'm assuming when the cold front hits that hotter air mass, that's when it'll get crazy. No idea if that's happened yet in areas further west.

Starting tonight, we're probably going to get a foot of snow in Colorado. After over more cup if coffee, I'm going to stock up on a few days of food, booze, and bud. It's going to be like a hurricane party, except with sledding and only me willing to light a grill.

I used to get excited about this stuff but since that horrible tornado hit my Great and Glorious Landmass in December I've kinda switched over to dreading it. I'm still very Interested in the weather but it's just not the same
Everyone stay safe, probably gonna get rough from the looks of it

Low coming off the rockies. Will quickly pick up strength as it ejects over the Plains and the air column stretches out.

TUESDAY:
Starting off around 60°, very muggy and warming into the 70s.
Isolated storms are possible any time after 3pm across central Alabama.
The main line of storms also begins impacting northwest Alabama after 3pm.
The cold front slowly pushes the squall line across Alabama on Tuesday evening and east of the state by the early morning hours on Wednesday

When I lived with my parents, I got it out of jonesboro.
Since I moved out, I get it out of little rock.
I do live in the same area though.

Looking out a week, the GFS is showing a very vigorous negatively titled trough blowing into the deep south next Tuesday.

I would have thought Batesville would be in Jonesboro market. Guess not.

It is. I watched kait8 more for the local stories. They employ mostly college kids looking to get into that profession.
I watch mostly katv now.

You must have a really strong antenna to pull in both markets then.
I grew up a little north of you. We got one local station out of MO, another out of KY, and the other from IL. That was really unique.

North Missisippi actually got some rain early this morning and it's been cloudy and cool ever since, it's got plenty of time to recover but if it somehow stays this way through tomorrow it will help limit the severe threat a lot
