re: Cammy Cam plays the race card: Being an African-American QB ... scares people

He didn't say they were scared because he was black. He said they may be scared because they don't know who to compare him too. Meaning he is different in the way he plays and his skill set than what has come before him (and he is probably referencing the way he carries himself being different than most other qbs as well). People other than Cam are making this more about race than he did. He gets some of the blame though because he jumbles his thoughts so much in interviews/pressers. He is terrible at getting a clearly worded thought out.

Prior to winning at AU, it was he cant hit the broad side of a barn. he sucks. transfers never do good.
When he was drafted in the NFL, he will be the biggest bust of all time. His team hates him. All these others QBs are so much better than him.
Yup never any doubt from anyone
You literally just made all that shite up

2 of the top 5 selling QB jerseys in the NFL right now are black. 2 years ago Kaep was in the top 5. Before that Michael Vick during his great year with the Eagles. RG3 was top 2 his first 2 years in the league. But no it's just Cam who is accepted by us racists

He said that Cam gets blowback because he behaves in a fashion that's far outside the norm for a QB
Agreed, and here is where Cam's point somewhat comes into play. Who are we used to in comparison at QB as far as actions? Who do they compare to when talking about Cam's actions. Its funny thats its Panthers Vs Broncos in the SB.
quote:
You used Gronk for an example, but he doesn't behave any differently than a myriad of other players both black and white.
I used Gronk as an example because he is celebrated for his similar actions and ego. Really only chastising he gets is because of the team he plays on.

I'm old school (and old). I don't like the look at me stuff no matter who does it.
My thing is. People love to hate on cam for having fun. I think people forget what sports started out as. Are we supposed to teach our children to treat the game as a business as well?

It didn't take a ridiculous, baseless statement like this for me to root for the Sheriff. My god I would love to see Cam running for his life if the Broncos D brings it like they did against the Pats.

I like Cam okay but this is non-sense. I guess a lot of white people got bummed out and annoyed with Mark Gastineau and Brian Bosworth in the 80's because they don't like white people.

Do I need to pull some articles? I believe one is even titled, "Cam:Bigger Bust than Ryan LEaf"

Are people scared of Russell Wilson because he's a black QB, too?
This. Plus the fact that he is also a dual threat QB like Cam (granted he does not have the rushing #s that Cam does).

It s funny that since the doubters thing has been brought up, people act like they knew he would always be good.

Well that isn't true at all. He had just won a NC in JC. He had a lot of hype around him for anyone who was following college football.

Good God, this is not something new.

He was pretty much recruited by MSU. The only other schools that noticed him were there to recruit other players on the team. Yes he was a top recruit, but as a JUCO, he was very under the radar. After he signed, all summer there was doubt. its kind of comical yall act like this didnt happen

Cam's comments went waaaay over some of your heads.
He was saying people haven't ever seen a qb dance and celebrate and showbolt like he does and it scares some people because we're used to the Peyton Mannings and Tom Bradys.

Of course they are. They have both been in the top 3 of QB rushing attempts the past 4 years. Russ actually has a higher career YPA than Cam.
