Have an upvote for an interesting offseason stat thread. So,any theories on why the letter M prevents championships?

Only 18 schools participate in equestrian. It should not be counted in the accolades. side note, why has Kentucky not won in equestrian??
That makes Georgia and ATM tied with Alabama. I have to hand it to Florida. Look at the variety of sports, includes the important sports, and they are #1 in a few more this year.
I thought I read an Aggie fan in another thread saying ATM is the best in everything else outside of football. I guess reality sux for him.
It would be interesting to see this list for SEC titles the last 10 and 20 years.

Should we actually count indoor T&F? Outdoor is where its at.

LSU has a pretty damn good shot at winning it all in softball and men's golf this year. Women's tennis just signed the #1 class. Gymnastics is now elite. track and baseball will always be in contention. we stacked, baws.

I like that SC is competitive in most sports, but in my opinion we could still do better in some.
Basketball is obviously getting better, men and women's. Our women will probably win a national championship next year or the year after.
We could be much more competitive in track and field. Our women won an outdoor title in '02, so it's possible. That should've been the beginning of something more. The SEC is so stacked in T&F though that I don't know if we'll ever be elite in the sport.
Softball is getting better, but again, the SEC is elite in that sport as well. Ironically, Softball is probably the SEC's best sport.
Men and Women's soccer/golf are all getting better. I'm expecting big things from our golf program in the next few years. We were really close and ranked top 5/10 in both for much of last year.
I'm not even sure if Swimming and diving is competitive at SC. We can start by giving our team's a better facility. The Blatt is not up to standard.
I wonder what's going to happen with equestrian at SC if more schools continue to drop the sport. The SEC sanctioned it a few years ago, which was huge but if the sport loses it's emerging sport status then that could lead to another flurry of schools dropping it. If that happens and SC eventually has to drop it then I wonder which women's sport SC will pick up. We recently were the first school in conference to add Beach Volleyball, do we continue the trend of adding new sports to the conference or do we finally add gymnastics?
