Another thing. One of the reasons our football budget is always top-shelf is due to the fact that luxury suite tickets basically cost $2,000 per ticket for the season, not including foundation donation.
Well are we actually gonna be using these funds to attract top shelf talent to play for the Hogs? I doubt the recruits that we are battling LSU and aTm for will be blown away by our loge boxes compared to their wall of fans and actual intimidating atmosphere. Maybe with the money being raked in we can try a little harder and recruit like Ole Miss.

Guys there's ways to make a stadium atmosphere better without adding canyons of seats and decks. A 75-80'000 seat stadium can be as intimidating as anywhere in the country if it's configured correctly. Just look at Autzen Stadium, it's like 55-60,000 seats and is a phenomenal atmosphere because of acoustics. Look at The Seattle Seahawks' stadium..it's the loudest stadium in the world and its around 65000 seats.
I'm fine with them adding suites and a couple thousand loge seats in the endzone. No, there won't be crazy loud fans sitting there, but the acoustics in the stadium will be far better. All that sound going out of the current stadium is awful. I just wish Jeff Long would take it a step further and add some kind of overhang on the upper decks a la Seattle and REALLY get the atmosphere going and have the most I dominating home field around, but he'll never do it. (You'd also shield most of the crowd from inclement weather too and in turn more people would come to bad weather games if they knew they were at least somewhat covered.)
I think in this tv age where crowds will diminish, you've got to give make going to the stadium an unreal event, a damn rock concert. You can do that without adding massive amounts of seats, you've just got to do it smartly and above all add to the aesthetic and atmosphere.
Great article about stadium acoustics and how to create noise

Adding a standing room only area like Jerry World that actual non-millionaire fans could enjoy would be cool

Another thing I would like to add is our team entrance.
For the LOVE OF GOD.. make something permanent and badass.
It changes every year.

I would prefer the team just running through the "A". Why does there need to be any blow up hog or fencing?

Hopefully with a new tunnel they will do away with the hokey crap.

The BOT has approved the primary part to seek out plans for the renovation.

I would love for DWRRS to have the canopies like Seattle's stadium, which you don't really see in the college football stadium landscape. I'd rather us save on something like another video board and do the canopies instead, the benefits are there.

You could have a totally unique and instantly recognizable stadium if they did the canopies… I bet this kind of idea hasn't even entered their minds though.

Some of those questions are terrible. Does Pryor know anything about the AD or football program? You can just sense the respondent wanted to laugh uncontrollably during some of those answers.

Looks like the initial design has been chosen, quite a bit different than the first one.

Is that for real? Link?

Got damn
Looks a LOT better than previous renderings.
I like how the view into the stadium is preserved in that design.

WELL, I am a bit ticked..
For years we have had outdoor club seating on the East side. Now those seats will be taken away for some new suites. And we have to start over in choosing new seats. Hmm, lets see... Sideline cluv vs end zone club. GRRRR!
