Per Gabe on PM, Pat Ivey has been fired by MU. SUCKS big donkey *&$%, but it must have to do with his affiliation with the boycott crowd. REALLY hate to see this. Bigger loss than Kul, IMHO

Oooops......sorry....just saw Quintana started a thread on this earlier. Still sucks!

I thought he just retweeted earlier this morning that he was staying at Mizzou?

Blow to the mid-section.
This does not pass the "smell test". On 12/6/15, he was staying. I only wonder if he promoted the boycott in any way???
Edit:
"That original player talked with other teammates who agreed to the boycott, then informed coaches of the plan Saturday. Team strength and conditioning coach Pat Ivey visited the Concerned Student 1950 camp on Mel Carnahan Quadrangle with former Missouri player Sean Coffey earlier in the day to tell group leaders' of the team's decision."
LINK
That piece-of-crap boycott was too big of a deal not to have some heads roll. There are some pissed donors from what I hear. I'd love to know what Pinkel thinks right now.

Evidently he and his staff were fired this afternoon.
Apparently he was heavily involved in the player strike. Even encouraged it. Don't know why that didn't matter until now, but he's definitely a very good strength coach. Will be hard to replace.

What I don't understand is that he was working as associate AD and S&C, now he has been let go from both positions. I'm wondering if MR and BO sat down with Big Time Donors and MR and BO had to let him go to help keep the money coming.

I thought it was odd he was being kept after how involved he was in the boycott. Can't expect to go behind your bosses back on something this big and not have any blowback. Feel bad for Ivey but he did this to himself by not taking it to the AD and GP. Have read posts on PM about how he really pissed off the coaching staff and even tried to apologize after the boycott blew up. He helped to hurt the Mizzou program and brand by involving himself and not informing his bosses.
We will get someone else and be fine, just hate to see Ivey go out like this, but not unexpected.

None of this should surprise you.
Big donors were pissed. With the legislative thing, you can bet that there will be assurances and signs of changes to keep the money flowing. Both from big donors, and the legislature.

Has nothing to do with the Boycott directly. Mizzou is not in the "payback" business. It has to do with being overly involved with players and probably violations of benefits i.e. loans, meals etc.
I don't have first hand knowledge, I was warned about this by a M.D. here in Omaha that also is an alumnus and booster. Our usual annual donation of 25k doesn't get us in the inner circle of the heavyweight boosters, but her family pledged 100k for 2016 and that's when the big boosters shared the scuttlebutt that maybe Ivey was taking his "Father Figure" role a little too far.

In a recent interview, he said he wasn't interested...and money won't buy him...but Justin Smith sure knows the weight room.

If he was involved in the boycott, get him the frick out then. Zero tolerance over that ridiculous shite. He's a grown fricking man and should of known better.

Also, the AD could be pissed that a member of their staff was actively subverting the goals of the athletic department.

Good timing forthe Ivey firing. wait until the students have left for break so he can't start a revolt. I'm sure that's why everything was good two weeks ago.
