Georgia must go no farther than its own backyard for the nation's top talent, has minimal in-state competition for recruits, has top-notch (and ever-improving facilities) and a proven track record of sending players to the NFL. If you can't get players here, check your pulse.

I agree Georgia is definitely up there. However, I think people really underestimate the effect of proximity to so many major programs other than UGA to that talent. Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Clemson all extremely close to where distance isn't really a factor. And you have the likes of Florida State and Florida coming in from the south.

I don't think this surprises anyone. This, more than anything, was one of the reasons it was not a hard decision to let Richt go. GA is a national brand now and our state is overflowing with recruits..just need the right coach to pull it all together.

If I were ranking number 1, I'd put UF

This list is the exact reason why I have always said that in the long run, the premier programs in the SEC will be LSU, UF, UGA, and Texas A&M. The recruiting and college football landscape is light years different now from where it was when Bear was the coach at Bama. Back then it was much easier to win based on coaching alone. Nowadays talent matters so much more, that the only way they will maintain is if they can hire coaches like Saban who are incredible recruiters. Its possible, but it will be harder for them to do than the 4 programs I mentioned above. Kids don't give a shite about tradition anymore. Its about location and the coaches.

UGA is a great place for recruiting. Their problem is that they keep getting raided, quite successfully, by out-of-state schools. Kirby's biggest job will be keeping his old boss at bay, really.

This can't be right. Arkansas fans told us they are the #1 school for all football related topics. The rant can't be wrong.

Even during the darkest days on The Hill, UT has been able to recruit GA. Hopefully that will continue.

Honestly I'm surprised the ranked SC so far back and both Ole Miss and Miss St ahead. Small population state surrounded by Bama, Auburn, LSU, and Tennessee seems like recruiting hell if it wasn't for the Jr Colleges in MS.
Are SC's facilities that far lagging behind? Tanner needs to call Darla Moore & Bob McNair to make some big donations.

In other news, war breaks out in the Middle East.

You can't win an NC recruiting only that state. Lord how many decades must pass before people realize that

And Mizzou fans still think they're so much better. Okay so your historical win % is in the .600s and we're in the .500s, so what? When you look at the two schools today, we're about equal.
