Taxes and Raycom studios were big enough to use for both. That is my answer.

The SECN would have to wake up at like 3am to make it into work on time. Or live inside the confines of Atlanta. Both would suck.

Much better location: Nashville. Decent traffic. Awesome city.

Which is exactly why I said "Atlanta makes much more sense to me."

Dumbass.

ESPN owns ACC and ACC has been ESPN suck boys since the early days of ESPN. F*ck the ACC for moving Host and CLC out of the SEC footprint.

Because that is the target state in the conference realignment

So the ACC remembers who their daddy is.. and to constantly rub their noses in the fact that we have our own network and they have.. well, they have nothing.

Nashville would be a better city to have it in besides Charlotte

With ESPN pumping the brakes on the ACCN, I'm confident that N.C. State and Va. Tech will want to join the SEC very soon. We don't need to overthink this thing either. Lets not muddy the waters trying to hold out for UNC or Virgina.

If Saban went to North carolina I wonder if the LSU furor will spill over to them having an unfair advantage?

Move it to Atl and Nashville I say, its not fair. I dont care if UGA or UT have an advantage just dont give Saban one.

Probably when asked to move to the shitehole called Atlanta most of the folks said no. Charlotte was a close major city. Just being over in the ATL every year I can't imagine living in that Godforesaken place. Only worse thing I can imagine would be somebody telling me I HAD to to live in Memphis. Charlotte is a nice city.

For the record Birmingham sux too.

I believe this to be the reason myself. Atlanta is in an SEC state (with apologies to GT), is more centrally located to the conference it serves, and I'm sure there are plenty of television studios available there. The only explanation that makes sense to me is that the choice of Charlotte was to facilitate future conference expansion and/or realignment.

SEC and ACC should merge, kick Notre Dame to the curb, take in Cincinnati and UConn and form four 8-team pods, or divisions. Pods are grouped geographically to promote the best rivalries. Money flows.

Isn't it because they already had a pretty nice set-up there for ESPNU and just decided to expand what they already had rather than build a whole new campus in the same region?

And Charlotte is a major southeastern hub, so their employees can get to pretty much any SEC venue with a direct flight.
