The 2004 Auburn team was really good, but not good enough to beat the 2004 USC squad, IMO.
An Oklahoma v. Alabama matchup in the CFP will be great.

How is 2001 Florida not even in your top 10? They were one of the most dominant offenses I've ever seen in college football. 2001 Tennessee should be in the top 10 as well. And no 2004 Auburn? Horrible list.

A top 10 list that leaves out the obvious #1? Shame

2007 UGA should 100% be on this list.

They should be but CMR lost control of Tennessee and South Carolina.

I corrected 1993 Alabama to 1994 Alabama. My list is mainly comprised of 1 loss teams.
1985 Tennessee went 9-1-2. Record may not look good overall, but they throttled Miami's national championship hopes in the Sugar Bowl. Had Tennessee not had those ties, they would have been national champs.
I considered 2001 Florida and Tennessee, 2006 LSU, 2007 Georgia, but they all had 2 losses.
I thought the SEC was rather weak in 2002, 2004 and 2005 which is why I didn't factor in Auburn and Georgia.

Alabama lost to Ole Miss, a pretty good football team, because of 5 turnovers.
Oklahoma lost to the fricking longhorns, a really bad team that lost to 3-9 Iowa State 24-0, because Oklahoma couldn't stop a mediocre rushing offense.
The longhorn QBs were 9-12 for 55 yards.
Oklahoma let the longhorns amass 313 rushing yards.
Oklahoma's deficiencies were mask by playing nothing but spread offenses in the Big Twatever. All Alabama has to do is hand it to Derrick Henry all day long.

2004 Auburn would have kicked the shite out of Oklahoma.
Using common opponents, Auburn beat Tennessee by 2 touchdowns in the SEC Title Game. The same Tennessee crushed an A&M team that Oklahoma barely beat by over 4 touchdowns.

I think you're forgetting about UGA shitting the bed against Tennessee.
...and South Carolina.
But yeah, blame Kentucky.

'66 Bama should be numero uno.

And they certainly will, if the twain should meet.

That 2004 Auburn team was the best in the nation that year.
