I say we pay $600 million to reanimate Bear Bryant and give him all the brown liquor he wants and keep him in fresh old ladies he can slap around. ...and free cigarettes too... Victory is ours.

Mullen has done more with less talent. He hasn't taken them to the top level of the SEC, but I could accept him. He would develop our QBs.

First post on these boards. I'm sure some of what I say will be unpopular, but I'll take a crack at it.

I don't pay the bills at UGA, but I would hope the athletic department is willing to pay market rates for whomever they bring in.

Years? 4-5. You need that for recruiting and a show of faith. Those contracts always get reworked anyway.

Expectations?
This is the key I think. In terms of W-L record, I would expect to exceed Richt's 2006-2015 win rate in at least 2 of the first 3 years (considering this is the same win rate Jim Donnan had in his 5 years at Georgia I don't think that is asking too much).
Beyond the W-L record though. For me to believe it is a good hire and not look elsewhere 3 years down the road, the new coach has to make Georgia competitive again. If we hire a new coach for 2016 then I don't want to look back after the 2018 season and see 3 or more blowout losses over the last 3 years (which is what every Georgia fan here has experienced on a minimum of 1 occasion every season since 2006). I also want to see the team compete against top quality opponents, and maybe at least split against those teams.

Finally, I want the new coach to give me hope. It's been far too long since I could really enjoy a season (wins and losses alike) because I felt like each game meant something. Basically I want 2001-2005 Mark Richt lol

I want a coach that will win every game. If he loses a game, from that point on, I will want him fired and anyone who doesn't agree with me is a Disney and will be on the wrong side of history...

Glen Mason has a career winning record: 123–121–1.

What Urban has done at tOSU is pretty amazing. He's won his division all three years and looks like he'll do it again. Yeah, it's a shite division but the SEC East has been a shite division the last 4 years as well. I'd love to see what a coach like that could bring to UGA.

Suppose they keep Richt and Fire Schotty (regardless he should leave after the season)

What OCs would we like to look at?

Mullen only has a 64% win rate. Why would we make that trade.

At MSU. At a time when the West has been really strong. In fact, he's made it stronger.

Hilarious, how in the world is that gonna happen? Our '13 class is turned into on of the worst in the modern era and this upcoming class will also take a huge hit if we make a change.

Well...think about it....IF we get a new coach he would begin in season 2016. Year three would be 2018, so thta is 5 years removed from the 2013 class. And, it would give the new head coach his third year of recruiting. (The rest of 2015, 2016 and 2017.)

Once again, prepare for a nose dive into irrelevancy for at least 2 probably 3 years

I actually believe this, too, but those calling for Richt's dismissal seem ok with that, or they are simply hoping all the recruits will stick with a new head coach....which is near impossible. However, with all the rumors people are floating around we will probably lose a lot of our current recruits anyway. I honestly believe many of those rumors are being floated with people that want Richt gone, and are manufacturing a LOT of the turmoil to try to push him out. They are only hurting the entire program by doing this.

We DO have to keep in mind, though, that there is something going on. But whatever it is, is being blown out of prportion. Either way, I would be sruprised if Pruitt is here next season. Pruitt leaving will certainly hurt recruiting.

No idea. But not Schotten-however you spell it. He has to go. I don't understand how our TEs got used in the first game or three and now not at all.

Certainly Fuente is an intriguing candidate. The red flag for me is absolutley no experience (long term) running a program. Jumping from memphis to UGA would be a HUGE jump for an experienced coach, but for one with little to no experience....could be very tough.

I would love a young head coach at a mid to large University that has turned the program around....but UGA typically does nto go in this direction. Perhaps this time....but who knows?

And who would be like that? Urban Meyer is NOT coming to UGA. You can bank on that.
