Difference in UGA and Vols

Anyone else notice how recruit rankings mean more to them than real production? They sound like s bunch of drooling idiots making it sound like Kahlil McKenzie will be a first team all American right out of the gate. I think he is going to be good but nothing has been proven. Whereas, we say that Thompson may eventually take the starting job later in the year. See the difference? It seems like the only way they win as many games as they expect is if every recruit lives up to their huge expectations quickly.

One program has been over the seven win mark in the past seven seasons.

Trent will be a vital part of our success if we're going to toughen up against the run this year. There's no doubt about that. He's quick, strong, and violent. He's easily our best lineman from an athletic standpoint, but we need him to grow up in a hurry. We have some depth, so he's not going to have to play every down but he'll be counted on for a lot of meaningful snaps this season.
UT's run defense, in all likelihood, will be dependent on their 2 true freshmen DT's. That's not a good situation to find yourself. They could very well prove themselves to be those rare specimens who can step in and be a stalwart against the run as true freshmen, but those are usually few and far between.
We're going to rely on several freshmen this year to play a lot of meaningful snaps for us. Dl and WR are both going to be necessities, and it looks like a true freshman will start at Star for us, too.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Thompson start early. And I actually understand their excitement (to an extent). They haven't had a relevant football team in ages, and good recruiting generally leads to good football teams. Some Vol fans are over playing it, but even in WG's prediction thread most of them had their team going 8-4 or 9-3, which is exactly where I see them.

I could tell UT was on the brink of being good last year but there were no expectations. Let's see how they respond when the lights are bright and the expectations are high. Usually takes a year for a team to get used to that scenario.
We always seem to have players hurt when we play UT, and that's really the biggest reason I'm scared of them this year. Thomas Brown broke his leg when we played them, then the carnage from a few years ago and last year Sony hurt his shoulder playing UT. Let's hope we stay healthy this time around.
I think UT should be better this year but I think UGA is primed to be even better. I don't think anyone is counting on us being a much, much better team this year. Only UGA fans know that, which is nice for a change. We can shock the country hopefully.

You know what's jacked up? He's actually from Georgia!
"Billy Redden (born 1956 in Rabun County, Georgia) is an American actor best known for his role in the 1972 film Deliverance. He played Lonnie, a banjo-playing teenager of the country in north Georgia, who played the noted "Dueling Banjos" with one of the principal actors. "
