Not sure why you guys think we have no QB

This is a response thread in case you guys haven't figured that out by now. Not sure which QB you guys were looking at but Harris looks light years a head of Jennings now. Jennings struggled to complete 50% of those passes in that video vs no defense. He just lobs the ball on every throw, meanwhile Harris's footwork and arm action looked great. He really does have an NFL arm and has put on 30 lbs this off season. 2nd year in Cam Cameron's system now, he knows the reads, he knows the playbook now, and is a lot more mature than he was 9 months ago. Really looking forward to watching him play and if he can be anywhere near what he is capable of doing, LSU will no doubt go at least 11-1 with their schedule.

Everyone knows you've got talent at QB and everywhere else. The problem has been developing that talent at QB. Get that fixed and LSU should be an absolute force this year but if not it will continue to hurt you.

I wouldn't say that you have NO quarterback, just not a good, proven one. Fortunately for LSU, you've always had a good enough defense and running game to be competitive with mediocrity at QB.

There's a thing called "trolling" and it's prevalent on this forum.

Trust us. We have seen them play. You have no QB.

The official team weigh-in has Harris up 18 lbs from a year ago which puts him right around the 200# mark, plenty stout enough to handle the SEC pounding. Kid's a great athlete. Hope he settles in.

I just went back and watched your video:
Both QB's have average arm strength for SEC QB's...not a cannon
They both throw behind receivers
It looks like a high school practice with players just walking around and no real sense of organization.

Probably because, with the exception of Zach Mettenberger in 2013, you haven't had a QB worth a damn since Matt Flynn in '07.

quote:Absolutely no evidence as of yet that he knows the system, the reads or the playbook yet. None.
Harris's footwork and arm action looked great. He really does have an NFL arm and has put on 30 lbs this off season. 2nd year in Cam Cameron's system now, he knows the reads, he knows the playbook now, and is a lot more mature than he was 9 months ago.
Just because he looks "Improved" in a few practices doesn't mean he'll ball at a high level when the pressure is on and the lights come on against Big Boy SEC competition. Gaining weight and having a strong arm have nothing to do with playbook knowledge, reading defenses and quick information processing skills.
We'll find out in weeks 2 and 3, but there is not enough "Preponderance of Evidence" as of yet that he'll be any better. The potential is there, but at this point it's still just potential.........
