Ironic that an ALABAMA fan would start a thread about Auburn not developing NFL Qbs. Alabama Qbs have crashed and burned worse than any other school in the modern era.
Is it better to be drafted and make it a few years in the league, or never make an NFL roster to begin with? Jason Campbell and Cam Newton are the only two QBs I can think of that even made it to the league since 2004.
Bama had 4 consecutive QBs make it to the NFL and last at least 3 seasons in the league during that time frame. Not a whole lot of teams in the country can say that.

Has Mitch Mustain been brought up yet?
His mom paid big bucks so he could spend his summers in Dallas being developed as a QB by members of the Cowboys staff.
But why would she do that since Malzahn is this QB guru and miracle worker, according to Auburn fans, and was available at no cost?

........and take either one of them. Either or has more starts than every QB bama has put in the league in the last 30+ years.

Who cares? Mike Shula was still considered to be the second coming of the Bear at Alabama when Jason Campbell was at Auburn.

So this is your response when somebody shows you what a fool you are?

What the actual frick does that have to do with anything?

You're trying to rebut my point by giving me a quarterback who is 10 years removed from playing at Auburn, and a quarterback whose 1 year at Auburn was about as important as Russell Wilson's 1 year at Wisconsin. Newton could have literally gone anywhere in the country and ended up being a starting NFL quarterback.
Tell me how that somehow pokes holes in what I'm saying.
Your boy just told me Bama's quarterbacks have crashed and burned worse than anyone else's ever - while we've put twice as many quarterbacks in the league.
Congrats on Cam, I guess.

It's getting a little over the top now. Outside of the Mannings, the SEC as a whole has been pretty terrible at putting quality QBs in the league. It's not like Auburn is some outlier and maybe closer to the top if you look at starts for their QBs over the last ten years or so.

So why were only a handful of schools recruiting him out of Blinn?

Because of why he ended up at Blinn?
I bet that had a lot to do with it.

Auburn has had two first round qbs in the last ten years, any other sec school able to match that? Jawon seems as dumb as we all thought he was.

He was the #1 ranked JUCO quarterback in the country, and had offers to Auburn, Oklahoma, Mississippi State, Arizona, Kansas State, and North Carolina.
I'd say that's pretty solid for a guy who had gotten kicked out by Urban Meyer - from a team that needed a quarterback.

Pretty significant drought other than the 2 outliers, wouldn't you say?

What does that have to do with him?
Why is the only Auburn response mechanism to deflect when presented with true information not in their liking?

The key was kicked out by Urban who protected a serial killer on his team...
Brian Kelly thinks that's fricked up.

So only 6 NCAA D I schools had interest in a player that "could have literally gone anywhere in the country and ended up being a starting NFL quarterback"? Sorry, your math just does not add up.

Except he wasn't kicked out and they happened to have Heisman trophy winner playing for them.

Randy Moss ended up at his only possible destination, Marshall, after he threw away his chances at destination schools.
Everyone knew Moss had talent, most did not want the off the field issues with taking him.
Between theft and his Dad, Cam was leaving JUCO carrying a lot of off the field baggage.

How many major D1 schools were in need of a JUCO quarterback who - whether you like it or not - would have been viewed as a substantial risk? The fact that he was kicked off the team by URBAN MEYER was probably enough for most places to not even watch his film - much less be willing to take the risk of spending a scholarship on him.
Nobody knew how good he was going to be at the time. But it wasn't Gus Malzahn that turned him into a phenom.
