For the fifth time, let me clarify that he was a personal favorite and by no means an actual top five quarterback

I'd love to hear how a 6'6 250 white guy that ran a 4.3 and was drafted in the first round as a WR is not one of the greatest athletes from the conference. Do expound.

I wish he could have been qb when Dmac,Jones,Hillis and Monk were there. That offense would have been ridiculous.
I've watched Hog football since the 60's and he may not have been our best qb but he was the best play maker we've had IMO.Though Dmac was outstanding as well.

What I remember most about those teams in the Jones era is how many players Houston Nutt had out of position.
Jones QB to NFL WR
Shawn Andrews T to NFL 3x Pro Bowl G
Jason Peters DT/TE to NFL highest paid OL, 7x Pro Bowl, premier OT
George Wilson WR to 12 year NFL S
Peyton Hillis FB/KR to 8 year NFL RB
Then the transfers
Tavaris Jackson QB transfers to Alabama St., still in the NFL backing up in Seattle, was a 2nd rd draft pick.
Michael Coe CB transfers to Alabama St. 5th rd draft pick, played 6 years in the NFL and has been in the CFL the last 2 seasons.

Some of us still remember the wishbone, which Nutt would have run with that roster.

To be fair, he was a WR in Buffalo before a rash of injuries when he volunteered to switch sides and turned what would have been a brief stint in the NFL into a career by doing so.

Also on this one he was 3rd string behind Darren McFadden and Felix Jones. There isn't many backs in the history of the SEC that would have cracked the starting spot. Moving him to FB to get him on the field was a smart move IMO.

Yeah, by the same logic you could say McFadden would be closing in on a 10 year all-pro had he played the position many projected for him to the NFL out of high school, Safety.
Felix could have had a more productive NFL career had he played what most recruited him as, a DB.
Hillis fell into the same gap as Kody Walker, big back who can be productive, but in the RB rotation would be behind two future NFL players, so FB is a good way to get him on the field.
Broderick Green would have had the same opportunity had he not been so damn soft.

Eric Crouch as a butthurt little bitch who threw a hissy fit because teams wouldn't let him play QB

I just liked watching Jones play ball. Is he renowned in SEC folklore as a top five, all-time great? No, but he was a lot more fun to watch than the majority of the more heralded names. You are fricking terrible. Par for the course when it comes to Tennessee posters apparently
Some of that's because he had such a terrible coach. Our offense consisted of Jones turning broken plays into gains. He had Newton's size and Manziel's speed and scrambling ability. The only thing both of them had over Jones was a more accurate throwing arm and better offenses around them.

LSU Matt > Arky Matt
LSU Matt has a SEC, BCS and Superbowl Champioship Ring
Arky Matt has a deviated septum.

I used to run into Matt out on Dickson. He was very laid back, not an a-hole, very, very chill dude. Friendly.
He wasn't anything like Mallett.

Mr. moron aka the OP said he was in his top 5 SEC qbs.
Out of high school, he wasn't even the highest ranked QB in the state. I think he was a high 3-star as a QB, but as previously noted, everyone recruited him to play WR. So, no, he wasn't even close to a top-5 QB, but I wouldn't argue with anyone calling him a top-5 athlete.

If Jones would of played for a legit program he would of won a title.
