I watched the YouTube clip of him speaking at the Little Rock Touchdown Club and he briefly touched on his cocaine arrest back in '08. Not bashing Jones at all - easily in my top five as far SEC quarterbacks go and he seems like a super chill dude. I'm sure some on here were in Fayetteville during his era and I've always heard the talk about him partying his dick off. Just wondering if anyone has a story or two on the subject

to Matt Jones. One of the GOATs

In my top 5. One of the best athletes to ever come through the conference. In reality he's probably in the 15-20 range of my lifetime (I'm 24)

In no particular order:

P. Manning
Wuerffel
Cutler
E. Manning
Tebow
Manziel
Murray
McCarron
Greene
Russell
Shuler
Matthews
Leak
Grossman
Couch
Newton
Shaw
Jones

I loved watching Jones play.

I am interested in this topic.

Let the party stories commence.

Post less. This may be one of the dumbest statements I have ever seen on the rant. Congrats.

Oh so now he is a greatest athlete and a top 5 qb?

Pretty badass, the guy played QB in college and was drafted as a WR in the pros.

And in the first round I believe, that's almost unheard of.

He has his own radio show in central Arkansas. Many fans wish he was half the radio personality as he was a football player. Matt was a great QB and had he not tore up his shoulder he may still be in the league

Matt is an eclectic guy who never really seemed to love the game he was just damn good at it. Basketball was his first love and he played basketball for the Hogs as well

As far as pure athletes go, he would have a shot at all time top 5 in the SEC. He was that good. QBs not a chance.

Matt Jones was awesome. If he went to a power program he could have lead a team to a National Title.

I'd love to hear how a 6'6 250 white guy that ran a 4.3 and was drafted in the first round as a WR is not one of the greatest athletes from the conference. Do expound.

I just liked watching Jones play ball. Is he renowned in SEC folklore as a top five, all-time great? No, but he was a lot more fun to watch than the majority of the more heralded names. You are fricking terrible. Par for the course when it comes to Tennessee posters apparently

Mr. moron aka the OP said he was in his top 5 SEC qbs.

When he realized the stupidity of his statement, he then changed it to athlete.

That is unless you think a dood with a 23-15 record as a starter and was named 2nd team all SEC one time is a top 5 SEC qb.

I liked how you have him 25-30 extra pounds AND shaved .1 off his 40 time. Bravo.

He was 6'6 243 and ran a 4.37 to be exact, with a 39" vert, at the combine anyway.
