Kenny and Joe both threw a lot of picks because they both threw the ball down the field. No dinking and dunking for them, would have been a horrible waste of two great arms if they had.

RIP Snake. I was always a big fan of his, as a Raider and especially as a Saint. I was just a child but I remember being at that Sugar Bowl game when they beat Nebraska.

Gotta love the respect across the board of fan bases for Stabler. Kudos to all. I'm going to miss his commentary on game days. To all

The Snake was one of a kind. Old school character, didn't take care of the body but still showed up on game day. He was sort of a folk hero, like an old school country music icon mixed in with an NFL star. Known as much for his bar room prowess as his NFL stardom.

I remember the pro football in the 70's as this. The Falcons sucked and strangely enough in south east Georgia all that was shone on our two channels were the AFC West and the Green Bay Packers. The Packers wore yellow and green so they were out but who were these other bad asses? The silver and black attack that had names of Stabler and Casper and Mark Van Egan. The defense had names like "Tooes" and Hendrix and Tatum. That's what I grew up on. The snake was the leader. Damn I miss his swagger. Walked into a huddle like a boss. "We're gonna win and frick you!" RIP Kenny!

I always liked Stabler. He's one of my all-time favorite quarterbacks.

I don't post much but lurk a lot and can tell that guy is a CTLALTDelet with that overly smug response

But how could ANY SEC fan not like the Snake?

Anyone claiming he wasn't one of the greats wasn't around to see him. This man was the definition of toughness- back when it really counted.

No doubt.

Back in the day, I thought Kenny was damn near magic.

The man was truly great.

There was a good reason people called him 'The Snake'.

Every time he entered the game late, you just knew something great was about to happen. He was calculating, cold-blooded, and accurate under pressure. Dude was 'clutch'.
