Not gonna read this whole thread. The nationwide consensus is probably the Iron Bowl. What this thread says may be something different, though. Both are great rivalries.

Either you have one huge rivalry or two average ones. Bama has two average ones in UT and Auburn.
That makes no fricking sense, but I guess you're either trolling or just don't understand how teams can have more than one big rival.

lol the nation would easily vote OSU vs MI and it wouldn't be close

The Iron Bowl was a in state rivalry that nobody outside of the SEC cared about until maybe 2008? 2010 when the Camback is when it really got huge press outside of the South.
The major CFB rivalries are:
Army Navy
USC UCLA
tOSU Michigan
Norte Dame USC
FSU Miami (since late 80's)
OU Texas

Ridiculous. So much myopia in this thread.

It's the truth though. You knew of OSU/UM in California back in 2000. The iron bowl? Eh, not really. I always just assumed tennessee was alabamas rivalry game

I googled biggest college football rivalries and looked through the lists on the first couple of pages. The Iron Bowl is at or near the top of all of them and ahead of OSU-UM most of the time. And these are lists by national publications/services.
Sure the Iron Bowl has been elevated in prominence the last few years. But even before that I think it was widely considered top 3 along with Army-Navy and OSU-UM

The states of Michigan and Ohio are both top ten in the country in population. And both UM and OSU are the major sports teams in each state.
Michigan and Ohio AS STATES are rivals, beyond football. They went to fricking war for crying out loud. OTOH, both Aub and Bama are in the same sparsely populated state that, let's be honest, is not that influential or populous.

You must be about 12 years old.

TV ratings and pretty much every list of greatest college football rivalries indicate otherwise

Yeah, because Alabama didn't exist before Saban (I can't believe I've defending Alabama).
