Kansas City advice?

I'll be on a trip to KC last weekend in July so I'd also like to hear. Will definitely be going to a Royals game.

My personal favorite is Gates BBQ, but there are plenty of great BBQ places. The Plaza is nice. Westport is cool for a younger crowd. Beautiful fountains everywhere. Crown Center is better in the winter with ice skating/lights. I like the Negro Baseball Museum. Boulevard Brewery is top notch. Good jazz places around too.

Gate's BBQ has a beef and a half that's my favorite. A lot of people like Arthur bryants....their sauce is not the boss. Mi Ranchito's has good Mexican food, but it's white people style not authentic.....cream cheese chicken enchiladas are the bomb. Nelson-Atkins museum is very impressive and free. WWI memorial and the Union Station are both great and in close proximity to one another. Midtown has some cool shops to peruse. Check out Hammersmith Press for some cool prints that you can purchase. I think Boulevard Brewery still has tours, but there used to be a waiting list. Cool experience with free beer at the end. KC is great. Have a ball.

I hear people in KC are raving about a new BBQ place called Q39. I've never tried it, but I will next time I'm in town.

I have always previously recommended LC's BBQ. - Damn Good.

Go to Q39 for BBQ. It's new on the KC BBQ scene but it's good stuff. Go to Fiorella's Jack Stack for a little more upscale BBQ dining.

As far as attractions go, there's really no way to be bored in KC if you use your resources. Check out the city's website...it has a list of attractions.

Crown Center Plaza shopping district, Country Club Plaza, national college basketball hall of fame at Sprint Center, Royals/Sporting KC, Nelson Atkins art museum, negro leagues baseball museum, power and light district, bars in Westport, KC Zoo, Worlds of Fun, Boulevard Brewery, etc.
