SDS 5* by team

1. Alabama: 17
T2. Georgia 8
T2. Texas A&M 8
4. Florida 6
T5. Auburn 5
T5 LSU 5
T5. Ole Miss 5
T8. Mississippi State 1
T8. Missouri 1
T8. Tennessee 1

Tell me more about your team's guys. Position? Expectation? Production so far?

7/8 for A&M are underclassmen, 2 QB, 3 WR, DE, DT, and a RB @ DB(first year, any production is a bonus). We also have a former 5* rb transfer not eligible till 16 in Keith Ford(who doesn't count)

Bama has double the top 2 teams. Also over half the conferences 5* corners.

Obviously HS rank, especially *'s are a small part of the equation but it's interesting to see what happens to the top rated recruits between graduation and the draft.

We'd kill to have one of those DB's from Texas on our roster instead of our division rivals.

The more you read, the more clear it becomes that Will Muschamp was the worst Head Coach of a major SEC team in recent memory- to squander all that talent and have the worst record of any Florida Head Coach in 35 years-- that's powerful idiocy.

I'm disappointed in Bama's LB's. Bama is LBU and should have more 5* linebackers. Hoping this year we get at least a couple more.

All of Auburn's are studs

RB- Roc Thomas. Best sophomore RB in the conference.
DE- Carl Lawson. Stud. Best DE in the conference
DE- Byron Cowart. Stud. Will be more rounded than Lawson
DT- Montravius Adams. Stud. Think Nick Fairley.
MLB- Trey Williams. Stud. Think Karlos Dansby.

5* and Nick Saban's evaluation that the player is worth an offer means a great deal. Could we see an entire stating lineup of 5* at Alabama in the next few years? God help us.

What did they use to determine 5 star status? Those numbers seem wildly inaccurate.

Arkansas' only one is Alex Collins, he's lived up to the hype I'd say.

In terms of on the field production, we really have 7, as both Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray can't both be on the field at the same time unless we want to run a really ridiculous gimmick formation.

This surprises me.

We've got something like 4 5 star DBs in the last two cycles, plus a few 5 star pass rushers. We expect lockdown pass defense.

Probably close to a third of the red team's 5s were upgraded by the likes of ESPN, etc. AFTER they committed.

So, not unlike the red team's number of titles, inflated.

This is one thing that people don't fully grasp, I don't think, especially as they try to disparage UGA's lack of success recently. Yes, nick saban is undoubtedly the best coach in the SEC...by a pretty wide margin. It's also notable that he has more 5 stars than the two 2nd place teams combined. Not only is he the best coach, but his roster is stupidly more talented on paper than everyone else's too.

For all the people that say 'Richt is such a great recruiter, why doesnt he win more?'...no, saban is a GREAT recruiter. These numbers prove that.

Why isn't Trey Quinn listed as a 5 star? All the LSU fans told me he was the best WR in the country out of HS.

2 of our 5 stars are huge underachievers according to this board.

Robert and Laquon

Then we have:

Tony Connor
Rod Taylor
Javon Patterson

We also have an incoming 5 star in some guy named Shea Patterson. He'll probably underachieve like the first two.
