I would gladly go the east as well rather we still play bammer or not. As usual bammer tards like you overrate their own importance in an era where even games against Vanderbilt are on tv

It makes no sense for us not to be in the East, but Bama and the East schools wanted no part of it.

According to this, it's not the East teams holding that up.

You think AU's admin. would ever seriously consider giving up the Iron Bowl if they went to the East?

Bring it! We play them every year anyway...might as well make the beatdowns even more painful and impactful.

Who do you think our permanent cross Division game would be with?

nobody is gonna sign off ending the Iron Bowl for the foreseeable future, it`s the most anticipated game in the SEC if not the country right now, that being said it doesn`t make a lot of sense for AU in the west.

I'm 100% for a restructuring of the divisions. Move either Alabama or Auburn to the East, and Missouri to the West.

Oh HELL no.

Nobody (and that includes Auburn and Alabama fans) wants to see two Iron Bowls played on back to back weekends every damned year.

That's the thing...we could play the Iron Bowl and its very likely the two teams would play again the very next weekend.....

You fricking dumbass, you included the years from which Alabama and Auburn didn't even play and even with that, your "dominance" you claim for that long was no more than 3 games. Your program and school is second tier in the state. Get used to it. And I love your arbitrary stats, you have a mere 3 game lead since Bryant passed (which will be surpassed very soon). Alabama has owned your asses a lot longer than from '61-'81. If you're going to use that, Auburn is 12-13 against Alabama since 1990. Cool isn't it? Saban is also 5-3 vs Auburn since his arrival, including 5 of the last 7. Gene Stallings was 5-2 vs Auburn. So no, Bryant wasn't the only coach that owned your asses. You guys should be more concerned about catching up to Vanderbilt in the series. Hell, LSU even owns your asses

But since you're stopping at '81, here's a comparison of the programs since '81:

National Championships- Alabama: 4 Auburn: 1
SEC Championships- Alabama: 7 Auburn: 7
Bowl games- Alabama: 29 Auburn 25
10+ winning seasons- Alabama: 16 Auburn: 10
(Alabama currently has also won at least 10+ games for 7 straight years, compared to Auburn who has only done it once in their entire history.)
Bowl wins- Alabama: 18 Auburn: 16
Losing seasons- Alabama: 5 Auburn: 5
SEC Championships- Alabama: 7 Auburn: 7

Looks to me like no one is anyone's daddy unless you want to go back to all time, where Alabama has a sizable advantage.

Yes you should, along with eliminating permanent cross division rivals, but neither will happen.

Historically, Auburn's most played opponents are Georgia, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Florida, Alabama, and Tennessee (in that order).

Moving to the East would give us UGA, UF, and Tenn every year. Arch-rival Alabama would be the obvious choice for a permanent opponent from an AU perspective, leaving behind the Mississippi State series and new age rival LSU.

I could live with that. It makes historical and geographic sense.

Also, out of an enrollment of 25,000 students, 2900 come to AU from Georgia, 1300 from Florida, and 800 from Tennessee, while only 130 and 120 come to AU from Mississippi and Louisiana. Jay Jacobs has mentioned before that students from Florida and Tennessee ask him why we don't play UF and Tenn more. So culturally, it would make a lot of sense for AU to play Tennessee and Florida annually as opposed to Mississippi State and LSU.

Yeah agree as AU has always pulled a lot of kids historically from Georgia and Florida...the east is more of a natural fit...

....to make that happen though something is going to have to give regarding one of Bama's opponents...it's either going to be the TSIO or the Iron Bowl...moving to the east would be great from AU's perspective but Bama would have to let one of the rivalries go....
