I would have thought that a rake would just piss it off.

It was a metal rake. It wasn't ideal, but got the job done.

No such thing as a poisonous snake. They have venom.

Never seen a snake ever out here (Las Vegas & Henderdon areas), people act as if they don't exist, but they got hella big Tarantulas out here. I see those suckers on my running desert path all the time. Scorpions and coyotes too, the coyotes will eat your dogs if they're small enough.

First of all, why have eggs sitting out on the counter? They go in the fridge, dumbass.

Second, if you know there is a hole in the floor, FIX IT!!! That's how critters get in!

Third, if you know there is a chance of critters, don't leave things lying around that might attract them. Like food on the counters.

Finally, kill snakes with fire, and creepy-arse spiders along with them. Dammit.

Ah, the Tarantula Hawk. I've actually seen a couple of those buggers in the wild (Mojave Desert) buzzing about a foot and a half off the ground looking for tarantulas. Largest wasp with the biggest stinger, by far, that I've ever seen.

Nothing would be worse than human sized insects. Frick.

By the way - never do this:

Frickin' massive wasp

So those pics should never see the light of freaking day. Not at all what I needed to see after doing some weeding this morning and grabbing a handful of dead snake in some tall grass I was clearing.

Yes, I know it was dead. Don't care. I still touched the creepy thing. Yes I was wearing gloves, still don't care. Dammit.

I spent years hiking and camping in south AL and MS and have seen a coral snake. They're either really rare and incredibly good at hiding. I've seen seen tons of rattlesnakes, moccasins, copperheads, but not one coral snake.

I was thinking this as well.

Cottonmouths and copperheads are a dime a dozen. Rattlers, not as much but I still run across them. Pretty sneaky bustards if you ask me.

I know for a fact that rattlesnakes are no longer found statewide in MS. Copperheads are not as common on the coast, but Cottonmouths are in all 82 counties. Coral snakes are rarely seen anywhere.

I've never seen a Coral snake, outside of a zoo. People claim to see them in Florida all the time, but they are probably only seeing Scarlet King Snakes.

If you want to actually see a variety of venomous snakes all in one place, take a night drive through Okaloosa County, Fla. Anywhere around Eglin AFB (north of Ft. Walton Beach) is rattlesnake and cottonmouth central. All of the venomous species found in the southeast U.S. are present in that area. I once read that there are more venomous snakes per square mile there than anywhere else in the U.S. Diamondbacks, cottonmouths, timbers, duskys, Copperheads and corals.
