Their fries are shite. I eat them plain... Don't care for cheese and gobs of salad dressing all over my fries, thanks.
Do you realize how ridiculous it is to call someone an "idiot" over a difference of opinion on fast food?

We pretty much have everything I feel like. Maybe in and out, I've never had it but everyone says it's great.
I enjoy in-n-out. That being said, it is the most overrated restaurant ever. But its fine.

Whattaburger is about to open down on Burger Row. Zoe's Kitchen is good and its also coming.
Little Rock is getting a Del Frisco's and I'm jelly of that.
Fayetteville doesn't have Five Guys or Smashburger but they're right up the road. Five Guys is alright.

I just moved from Baton Rouge to Dallas metro area and the fact that I now have access to in-n-out burger is by far my biggest excitement. I feel like a fat motherfricker after I put down an animal style 2x2 with animal style fries, but holy shite is it worth it!
Can't believe I went 28 1/2 years without this amazing chain in my life.

Not a fast food chain, but I wish there was a Pappadeaux down here.
I know the food snobs will probably poo-poo it, but every time I've hit the Atlanta location the food has been outstanding.

It probably has more to do with them not double frying. I'm hardly the first person to have this opinion about their fries.
From Serious Eats:
quote:LINK
Everyone knows that In-N-Out's fries are notoriously bad despite being fresh cut in-house—it's because they only fry them once instead of the superior McDonald's-style double-fry—but there are ways to improve them. First, you can get them extra crispy by saying well done. The fries turn out more dry and crunchy than crispy with a fluffy center, but it's a definite improvement. If you're on the opposite end of the spectrum, you can also request your fries light, where they'll come to your tray almost completely blond, limp, and greasy.
From another blog:
quote:
That might cover up the fact that In-N-Out fries are, in a word, terrible. It’s lovely that they’re fresh-cut and all, but they only fry them once, and everyone knows that the secret to great fries is double-frying (like McDonald’s).
One of the many super-secret menu hacks you can do at In-N-Out is specify how you want your fries done. I find their regular fries kind of limp and soggy.
You can ask for them to be well done, which means they leave them in the fryer longer, but without a rest in-between fryings, as happens in double-frying, they just don’t come out right. Rather than being crispy, they’re more like crunchy and dry on the outside and a bit mealy on the inside. Blech!
I actually like In-N-Out... Just not as much as some of you apparently. They have good burgers and shakes, GREAT customer service, and they're very good to their employees. I'm glad they're successful. I just don't like their fries. Sorry.
