Lol wut? Tom Brady and Payton Manning do well in a spread. They can read a D.
They also both played in pro style offenses in college which helped them learn how to read defenses.
And they both quite regularly take snaps from under center even now. There are QBs in the college game right now who have never taken snaps from under center.

I don't think that's what he's saying. He's saying when those college players get into the NFL, they are very poor at fundamentals and have a severe lack of football knowledge because of how simple spread systems in college are.
And they're more prone to injury.

Most OL Coaches hate the HUNH and the Spread, because it forces them to teach something different than what they were taught.
I don't think that's true. The coaches I've talked to at clinics and stuff don't like it because it allows a team to gloss over fundamentals and still be successful. It doesn't require any technical knowledge of the game in order to be good at what you do.
That's no good when you're trying to teach an NFL offensive linemen how to read a defense and pick up a blitz when you're running a complicated blocking scheme.

They actually have to make reads. These college QBs aren't being asked to make reads. They make one read and then take off.
Thats why it was laughable that people actually thought RG3 should have been drafted above Andrew Luck.
Luck was actually coached on how to play QB in college and RG3 wajust a good athlete with great recievers. We see how that turned out.

What he really is saying is black people shouldn't be QB's. That is a slow white man's job.
Because that Russell Wilson guy hasn't worked out for him, right?

Maybe they should stop looking at just stats and watch some film

I mean you have heard Nick Marshall talk. Do you think he could have handled a complex offense?

If it's that bad then the NFL will correct the market, by not drafting them, or you know...coach them.

RG3 was pretty fricking good until he tore his knee up

Yes it is. The O's black people QB. Just because something is different, doesn't make it wrong. People like Cable want things simple, and for him to make a ton of money without thinking.

They do. Why do you think they are so disappointed in the current crop of players being pumped out by the college game?

They are the best college has to offer. The market is severly degraded. The titans just drafted Mariotta knowing he is coming from a one read spread system and they are taking a huge risk. Winston is much more prepared and will prove it.

What he's saying is that a lot of college players' film isn't applicable. He can't see what he needs to see because the players aren't asked to do in college what he needs them to do in the NFL.
I fail to see how this is controversial at all.

You mean when he was faster than everyone on the field. Vick was also a pretty good athlete.
Ask them to actually have to make reads and play QB and well......you are now seeing how that works.

So they're the best...but they're not good enough for the NFL?

Damn at the #2 pick they only had one option. It's worse than i thought.

Well go watch them at the combine or have them workout for you. If they can't make reads, don't draft them. Pretty simple. That's what the Bucs did

Nick Marshall is going to make him eat his words

In an unsustainable scheme for the NFL. The Redskins dumbed everything down to a one-read play action offense that was eventually going to get out-schemed or get him killed.
