The jury got it wrong. It does happen, more than it really should.
Most believe the jury got it wrong because we got the facts from the process of a trial. We need the evidence laid out in court in this case to get a more complete picture of the truth.

So what? Did the cops actions directly lead to his death? Could it have reasonably been an accident? Was their arrest a legal one (was the knife they found in the stop a legal or illegal one)?
This is the whole fricking point of trial, to determine the answers to these questions.
You want to wait for an orderly presentation of the events and the evidence before rendering a judgement?
Dude, what the hell is wrong with you? This is America. We don't do shait like that - we make decisions based on 30 second sound bites and 140 character outbursts. Anything else is a fricking waste of time.
Now, having said that, I really want to see her reasoning for charging the five officers not driving the van with anything related to his death. Unless I missed something, he was alive and uninjured when he left their presence. I fear she overreached in an effort to appease the masses and in actuality just set the timer on another explosion when they all* get acquitted.
*All being the other five. The driver needs to get a very good defense attorney.

We also make decisions based on what Facebook says.

Some of us make decisions based on what CNN says. Some others make decisions based on Fox. The rest don't make decisions.

That doesn't even make sense.

You're right. That whole presumption of innocence thing is soooo 18th century.
If the Trayvon and Brown cases taught us anything at all, they taught us that there is no need to wait for the full story. If the masses say they did it, then they did it.

You're missing the point entirely.
People get away with crimes all the time. Just because someone avoids conviction doesn't mean they're innocent.

You're right. They're not guilty.

So if the court of misguided public opinion says someone is guilty, they are guilty and should be punished, even if the court of law says they aren't?

That's a bit of a stretch. Not sure how you gleaned that from what I said.

Obviously.

Are you asking if his spinal cord accidentally got severed? Even if it was caused by the driver swerving, they're supposed to buckle prisoners up. They didn't.

Legal knife.

Who cares... Gray was a waste of oxygen anyways.

I know it's Stonepig, but he's right. And your point is also correct. Both are correct. Just because public opinion says someone is guilty doesn't mean they're guilty. Just because someone isn't convicted doesn't mean they're not guilty of doing it (morally).

That's not the police's determination to make. And certainly not yours.

That's a remarkably fricked up thing to say, tbh.
