If I had to venture a guess, no one has mentioned T stand because it's unforgivable to microwave a quesadilla and charge money for it. Admittedly, I haven't been to a T stand in years, so maybe they've up'd their game. But back in the day their quesadillas were microwaved. That's ridiculous.

Burrito Chain
What a great business model....
You've got, what?..10 or 15 ingredients tops?.. all in a trough that can be mixed in enough different ways...with enough cutesy names.... to make up a full menu.
Nothing left but to install the fountain drink machines next to the ice tea vats. And come up with a particular name and identity so as not to get sued by the otherwise identical burrito chains.

I LOVE Chipotle, but isn't that their biggest shortcoming....the LACK of queso?

To be clear, I loathe Taco Stand. I only mentioned it because I recall my wife used to really like the burritos and I'd stomach that junk just for her. That and it's been a relative staple in Athens for forever, so I just figured someone would bring it up by default.

Tried Chipotle the other day, paid $9 which included an extra charge for chips and didn't get a drink. Get the same plus a drink at Barberito's so I just go there.
Wasn't too impressed with Chipotle's taste either.

Georgia-Ritto's Franchise Idea...........
Create a Maze that funnels toward a cash register flowing beside the following:
Chicken, Pork or Steak
Steamed tortilla or taco shell
SOur Cream
Guacamolie
Cheese
Pico salsa or corn salsa
Black olives
lettuce
onions
maybe a couple more........
Keep moving through the line. Always there's a glass sneeze-guard protecting the trough....
Ice-trough with fancy glacier water and corona beer tempts.
Cashier. "To go or for here? WOuld you like to register for our Georgia-Ritto's Queso Card?"
Widespread Panic bootleg's play through the house speakers......
$$$$$$$$$$$$Dollar bills$$

Name the different burritos "The Munson", "The Hershel" etc...
After you've outgrown Georgia, you open Auburn-Rito's and sell "The Bo" etc
You have a viable business plan JD.

And the only difference between the two is that one has guacamolie and the other doesn't.....
Are we allowed to use these names without permission/paying royalties etc?
Where is Litigator?

Jefferson, do you have any free cash? I figure we need about $80k to get it off the ground. I got $10k on it, plus I can finance another $5k.
I figure we can make our money back within 18 months, then make about $60k profit for the next 6 months it takes to sell the business for $200k.
$200k sale with $60k profit after paying ourselves back the $85k, all within two years, would be a pretty sweet deal.
Or we keep it, since we spent all the time building the brand, and spread, using the profits from each store to finance the next one, and grow exponentially until we've completely saturated the whole market. On a 5 year plan, we could probably have 25 locations then put them in a holding company with a general manager and just get our $15,000/m dividend check while we sip cold coors light at the landing, bitching about how the democrats are trying to ruin our lives, and maybe just do fun things like tend a garden and make UGA yard art.

I'll never get the Barberitos love. Out of all the burrito places, Barberitos is pretty shitty. If it wasn't for the fact that it was downtown and someplace quick to eat when you're drunk, I'd never have gone there.

I’m in. Where are we at on Location?
Stipulations:
-I would like a 51% controlling interest.
-No phish bootlegs get played unless you can provide scientific evidence that it translates into dollar bills in my pockets.
Litigator, Draft a contract. Also, research whether Moe’s has to pay Jerry Seinfeld for naming their burritos after fictional characters from his show. Thanks in advance…….We just put 10 free Munsons on your Georgia-Ritto’s gold Queso-Card….

Seeing Taco Stand on the thread takes me back to when I was a UGA student in the late 80s. What was the name of that place where you could get a grease filled coffee can steak and gravy biscuit in what looked like an old small general store. Brown paper bag would be soaking up the grease and your arteries would be screaming "NOOOOO DON'T DO IT!" LOL! Anyone recall that place? I think it was somewhere in either Normal Town or over by TK Hartys. Absolute hole but that biscuit was soooo friggin good.

You're thinking small. Don't sell the business....franchise it out and as part of the franchise you can sell all of the brand interior decorations, sauces, ingredients, etc. to your franchisees and charge them for the benefit of your nationally negotiated vendor contracts. Also, they can buy your canned advertising and TV spots to run on the local cable network.
You now have the profits from your owned restaurants but also the recurring revenue for the franchisee's who are hungry out working their arse off for your benefit.
...and if any of them ever spin off into their own "similar" business you sue them into oblivion.

work work work work work work.
If I just want to work, I already have a good paying job with a lot less stress and liability.
