Cole Kelley
Hudl
Had offers from Okie State, Kentucky and some smaller schools. He's rough around the edges but his upside is big IMO. Especially in a year when we didn't really need to even take a QB.
Bonus is it gets us another kid out of Louisiana.

Game manager type of QB. Fits your system perfectly.

Completely agree. Give him a few years to learn the system, polish his mechanics and take snaps under center and he could end up being a nice find. He's definitely got the arm for the vertical routes we need to back defenders out of the box. He's also surprisingly quick on his feet which is beneficial for the PA rolls outs that Bielema loves.

Any locals care to offer a scouting report for young Cole? From what you've seen...

Good pick up. Prototype NFL body, needs further development w/throwing. Reminds me of a young Brock Osweiler

My nephews play on his high school team at Teurlings Catholic. Good pic up Hogs

He's got a long line ahead of him

Great arm strength and live arm. Poor foot speed and pocket mobility at the SEC level. Has to be in the right system. IMHO, he could go either way, depending on the line and the philosophy. Fits Arkansas.

Congrats on the commitment.

No, he's Mett, without the arm. Won't hate on the kid because honestly if LSU ever offers I think he flips , just not sure he would see the field, he's a big boy,Mallett big, really just depends on how he's used. Like I said, no hate, good get, but there's work to be done no matter where he goes.

LSU fans keep saying this "see the field" stuff. It will be 4 years before he would probably ever play at Arkansas

I would be much more concerned with this take if Chaney was still the QB coach.
From what I've seen Enos actually has our QBs doing footwork drills and developing them.

You like getting kids from Louisiana?

Congrats on the pickup hogs. I think with the right developing this kid could do really good things for yall.

Yes. The quality of high school football played there is much higher than in Arkansas and a lot of the surrounding states that we traditionally recruit such as Missouri and Oklahoma. LSU can't take them all so there is always some serious talent left over.
Honestly, it's always surprised me that no Razorback coach prior to Bielema has tried to recruit the state as hard as he has. It never made much sense.

I know I do. It seems like our Louisiana and Florida players that we've been getting more of under Bielema play with more swagger to them than a lot of Texas players we get, not saying none of them are good though. Although a lot of our South Florida kids seem to have off the field concerns.
Santos Ramirez, Henre Toliver and Jared Cornelius will all be key contributors for us this year in just their second year for example
