In the two weeks I've been posting it's clear that LSU stays up in your dome.
I've probably posted about LSU 2-3 times this year, all in extreme sarcasm

Well I enjoyed reading the first four pages of this thread.

Powerhouse SEC programs don't lose the best defensive players in their State to Big12 programs.

1) Who the hell said we were are [already] a Powerhouse SEC program? What an idiot that was.
2) Yes, some of us have an extra cross to bear. South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and to a lesser degree Kentucky also have in-state programs with which we have to compete.
We could win 18 SEC and 16 National championships over the next 20 years and texas would still be beating us out of a recruit or two. It's the curse of living in a large, wealthy, and football-oriented state that has valued education enough to build a few schools.

The argument that The State of Texas has so much talent that A&M "can't get them all" is so overworn. MANY top recruits in Texas simply want zero part of being associated with Texas A&M..regardless of the conference, coach or collie.

Hell, I'm barely ever on here, and I've seen you post something about LSU that many times.

There it is, folks. Aggy already knows it lost the football argument, so in comes money and education.

Meh, LSU is an SECW team so it's a little bit unavoidable. Aside from the occasional troll/ sarcastic comment I doubt I've displayed any aggie posting tendencies. I would say that you're welcome to comb through my post history but I don't think that's worth anyone's time

God forbid we bring education in to the mix when talking about STUDENT athletes

Because this thread had anything to do with education in the first place.

We do, and always will have to, compete with this.
Texas, TCU, Baylor, and Tech will always stand to get a recruit or two from us. Rice may even take one we wanted now and then. We jumped on the opportunity to join the SEC because it gives us a marked advantage. If we can start winning conference championships then we'll add Louisiana to the map. And THIS is what scares y'all the most.

Did you seriously just blame the Big 12 for your irrelevance? Awww let me guess tflagship was holding you back?
It makes sense if you take a minute to think about it instead of mock me.
Big 12 exposure was determined by TV appearances. The more the biggest program (OU, Texas) get on TV the more the league got recognition. But unlike the SEC, the Big 12 payout was determined by tv appearances! So there was a motivation to put us on TV less than OU or Texas, which lead to us making less money than OU or Texas- by a lot. It is hard to compete on an uneven playing field.
Even outside of the conference setup, we had no competitive advantage in the Big 12. Why would a recruit (who is unbiased presumably) go to A&M when a the same division boasts more successful (OU) or more wealthy (Texas) options? The only reason to chose us was if you preferred A&M, which isn't most of the state.
In the SEC, we have advantages we never had before. First of all, the conference is pushing us because our success means more revenue/exposure from Texans. We are the only Texas school in the SEC, so we can be pushed without hurting some other program unlike in the Big 12. That explains how we were the first SEC Network game, or how we got that CBS game vs Bama that made JFF famous. The SEC wants us to win to justify expansion.
Outside of that we now have a recruiting competitive advantage. We can offer a slate of opponents Texas and OU can't offer, and in the case of OU that has us eating their lunch for the most part. History has shown the state has enough talent to support two top tier teams, and thanks to SEC money and exposure we elevated us above OU in the metrics that matter (ie not historical titles). Put all that together and you have the basis for A&M 2.0.
That is why I have faith we will win a national title one day. Not because of us, we obviously couldn't do it on our own in the modern system. But because the smartest guys in college football, the guys who run the SEC, need us to be a success to keep history from looking poorly at the last round of expansion. So one way or the other we will get there, and if progress can't be made on the field we will make it in the boardroom.
That is where Chavis comes in.

(at least be original and come up with your own attempted prejorative, rather than stealing the Horns').
And for the record, our university is wealthy, is located in a football-oriented state, and values education.
That has nothing to do with LSU--not sure why the comment bugged you.

So why are we supposed to believe Chavis is lying and the LSU AD is telling the truth? It's not like the LSU AD hasn't had a past of ignoring contracts... O wait. Still waiting on that money from when LSU pulled the most chicken shite move in the history of college football and backed out of the contract because we were beating you thoroughly.
Ya'll moved conferences because Texas so thoroughly beat your arse every year. You broke your contractual obligation with the Big12 because you were jealous that Texas has the best university, football program, campus, etc., etc. in the state.
ETA: he '90s are by far considered the worst years of LSU football. The past 3 years have been considered the pinnacle of tamu football yet LSU is 4-0 during that stretch.

I'm gonna try to keep this on the rails a little longer... Redirect back to Chavis.
Chavis' credentials are solid. Solid enough for A&M to have a decent Defense to compliment the prolific Offense.
There is NO reason not to expect A&M to be able to recruit enough defensive talent needed to win in the SEC.
